So, there is a community about a half an hour south of here. It is really a pretty sleepy little town, but they do have a few things there including a restaurant I want to try, anyway, they were advertising a Mardi Gras festival on the 23rd..and has one of the local weather people (RIchmond News) as an MC. I thought, hmm that might be kind of fun, and looked it up..It is a 60 dollar admission! I don't even think it is per couple! I am not sure what all that includes..but count me out! Even the semi pricey Lake Anna Winery, wouldn't charge that much for an event, no one would come! The Mardi Gras thing, didn't include dinner..although I think it might have had an open bar, which is worth something..but I am not paying 60 dollars to go there..

I know it isn't like a New Years thing including drinks, dinner and dancing or something.

@snowy22315 it is a lot when you consider the price for a couple.

@Happy2BeMe I know that would be 120 dollars..Most people aren't going to spend that for a night out. Only on a very special occassion.

Wow, you would have to drink a lot of booze to get your money's worth. Plus it's not exactly New Orleans?

$60 and no dinner included? No way, even with an open bar.

It was,but it might end up being couterproductive. I just don,t see that many people attending at that price.

@snowy22315 For a sleepy little town, it's outrageous.

I don't know why they have to charge so much for events but I guess there are a lot of people that will pay it and that makes it ok for them. Too bad because that doesn't include those of us that can't and won't pay those prices.

I could see it perhaps if it included a dinner, or was a couples price..even then it would be high though.

@snowy22315 Right, but not even dinner. Nothing else could be that special for that price.

Some of the entry fees to stuff around here are very pricey too. It puts us off going.

Yes, I am curious how many people are really gonna pay that. I can't imagine it would be that many.

I think few would be willing to pay that kind of money..It isn't a big city..where you might expect to pay quite a bit.
