So, there is a community about a half an hour south of here. It is really a pretty sleepy little town, but they do have a few things there including a restaurant I want to try, anyway, they were advertising a Mardi Gras festival on the 23rd..and has one of the local weather people (RIchmond News) as an MC. I thought, hmm that might be kind of fun, and looked it up..It is a 60 dollar admission! I don't even think it is per couple! I am not sure what all that includes..but count me out! Even the semi pricey Lake Anna Winery, wouldn't charge that much for an event, no one would come! The Mardi Gras thing, didn't include dinner..although I think it might have had an open bar, which is worth something..but I am not paying 60 dollars to go there..

Wow, you would have to drink a lot of booze to get your money's worth. Plus it's not exactly New Orleans?

It was,but it might end up being couterproductive. I just don,t see that many people attending at that price.

I was shocked to be honest. I thought it might be high, but not that much!

@snowy22315 For a sleepy little town, it's outrageous.

I could see it perhaps if it included a dinner, or was a couples price..even then it would be high though.

@snowy22315 Right, but not even dinner. Nothing else could be that special for that price.

I know it isn't like a New Years thing including drinks, dinner and dancing or something.

@Happy2BeMe I know that would be 120 dollars..Most people aren't going to spend that for a night out. Only on a very special occassion.

@snowy22315 it is a lot when you consider the price for a couple.

Wow if it didn't cover dinner even that does sound really costly. I'd pass on going as well!

IF it was per couple, it would be OK, but not per person.

I think few would be willing to pay that kind of money..It isn't a big city..where you might expect to pay quite a bit.
