I can list some I personally like: Makki ki Roti, Sarson Ka Saag, Idli Sambhar, Dahi Vada, Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Rice with Sambhar, Dal Makhani, Shahi Paneer, Dosa, Uttapam, Rasam, etc.. etc...

It would help if you explained just what 'ugali' and 'mrenda' are. If I say that two of our traditional foods are haggis and toad-in-the-ole, are you any the wiser?

@erictsuma It appears that another name for 'mrenda' is Jute Mallow and that the plant is also grown for jute fibre. It's a member of the same family as the mallow whose roots used to be used to make those candies called marshmallows (these days they use animal gelatin).

@erictsuma Never heard of those foods before. What is it exactly? Traditional foods here would be like hamburgers, meat pies, pizzas I guess. Meat pies is more Aussie though.

One of my favorite foods from my country, the Philippines, is Kare Kare. What I love about this is the thick peanut sauce!
