Update on my dad. I'm so angry with this nurse!

Here are some updates on my dad.... Not too long ago, dad's surgeon saw photos of my dad's foot and texted my dad saying that things were looking good. That was positive. But now we may be going back to not so positive. ( nurses who see my dad often took these photos and sent it to the surgeon ). Dad sees a company called "Silver Chain." Where nurses can come out to you or you go see them depending what is wrong. My dad has to see them often to have the bandages on his foot redressed as well as the nurses checking out his wound. This nurse (by the way my dad doesn't always see the same nurse every time)....put something on my dad's foot that should NOT have been on there. I don't know the medical term but it's this type of tape that shouldn't go on a diabetic's skin because it can make the skin deteriorate. Thankfully my dad only had it on for 2 days BUT thanks to this nurse, the progress of my dad's foot has gone a bit backwards. I am so angry. My dad is seeing some doctors today at the hospital to see what can be done. From what I understand there is a chance he will have to have more surgery to take off the dead skin. We are still worried if anymore of his foot needs to be taken off because that is still possible.

Well that is infuriating I can understand why you are mad. If it were here he could sue.

@TiarasOceanView If his foot was in really bad shape, I can only assume he could do that. Luckily everything was ok. The nurse still said something that shouldn't have been said but luckily that tape was ok in the end!

@TiarasOceanView I agree. I love your new name by the way. Oshy! Not sure if I am pronouncing it right though.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry. I wonder why they sent this nurse to see your daddy, she does not seem to be a "professional nurse", she would have known not to use that tape.

Hope things get better soon. Mistakes happen but the nurse should have taken more care - siva

@Shiva49 I agree mistakes can happen. Just angers me that she got something wrong when she's supposed to be trained as well as stress my dad out.

@Daljinder Because of her, my dad was so stressed out. It was hell for him in the hospital already so what she did made him go through so much anxiety.

@VivaLaDani13 True! Unnecessary worrying over nothing because of her.

I am sorry that your dad has to face all these due to negligence and ignorance of a nurse! Hope he is soon on his way to recovery. Such things can really be frustrating.

either the nurse was given the wrong instructions, or she misread/misunderstood the instruction. or mistook him for a different patient with a different condition. or she lacked training. i don't know. i'm not in the medical field. have you checked with silver chain what went wrong? how can they guarantee it won't happen again?

@hereandthere She definitely had mistaken something. I know people make mistakes but it's hard when it's in the medical field. Because in some events, nurses / doctors have killed patients because they didn't know what they were doing. It's quite scary. This nurse got her name and mistake written down. I don't know what happens from there though.

Hope that things will be good to him soon.If you saw something wrong about what the nurse put there in his feet you have to tell them also it is your right.

@janethwayne She is aware of the mistake she did as well as other nurses who now know.
