Happy SPRING to all those who are celebrating the end of winter. I hope no one is battling snow anymore. I found this picture I took in 1991 when I lived in NM. I do not know the name of those flowers but I wish I could find them because they can grow up to 15 feet tall. They would make a wonderful border for the front of my yard. Do you have any old pictures to use as greeting cards?

Have you made any? It is sunny here but windy and oddly it is coming from the northeast instead of the southwest, that is unusual.

@rebelann I do not send greeting cards by mail anymore. I print the Menu of what I make for my guests, this is something I always do.

Thanks, I had hoped someone would know what kind of flower this is but even mom couldn't remember when I asked her about them. I'd love to plant them on the border of my property. The look a little like sunflowers but those blossoms weren't as big as that.

I'm not sure exactly what is meant by garden plants, out here most of us are just happy if something grows. When I first saw these growing in mom's backyard I thought they were flowering bamboo but the stalks are more like sunflowers than bamboo.

Oh, I didn't think of it like that @JudyEv sorry. Mom always called it her garden with fruit trees, bamboo, nut trees, pine trees and all kinds of flowers, she had a horrendous water bill because of her garden.

@rebelann I guess I just meant the sort of plants that people would buy to plant in a garden. Most are much smaller than what you're describing.

Spring has sprung and summer is right outside the door. Already in the high 80's here and will be 96 this weekend with lots of humidity. I think we skipped Spring and jumped straight into Summer.

Wow, that's warmer than here, it's only in the high 80s right now with the low 90s baring creeping in now and then. The good part is the humidity is very low so it doesn't seem that hot.

Hooray spring!!! We’re hopefully out of the woods when it comes to snow. However, the local meteorologists tell people not to plant anything until after Derby Day (first Saturday in May). It snowed on Derby Day the year I bought my house....and we have had sleet during a Putt Putt tournament on Mother’s Day.
