Music That Makes Me Want To study When I was younger, much younger, some friends of mine gave me a vinyl record with sonatas from Mozart. I just felt in love with it and every time I wanted to study hard, I would put on Mozart sonatas and there. I could study so much seriously when listening to that kind of music. I just could not concentrate on my studies while listening to songs. Are you this way too? Mozart- Piano Sonata in C major, K. 309- 3rd mov. Rondeau (Allegretto grazioso)

@Marilynda1225, I found rock'n'roll music way too stimulating for my feet more than my brain.

As much as I love Mozart and all music for that matter, I needed peace and quiet in order to study. Got straight A's, too!

Of course you did! I can study with music without lyrics.

Congratulations for all those straight "A's". I was pretty good myself but not all "A's". And that with my music.

@marlina I would stop studying and let the music carry me away. I have trouble tuning it out.

Most definitely. I can't work if words are involved... My office has to be totally silent!! Now music might be totally different!!

I could not listen to songs while I was studying because I tended to listen to the lyrics and sing along. Classical music was fine to study.

I think instrumental music is easier to study by. If you are listening to a song with words, they distract your mind.

I can listen to music without lyrics if I'm studying. Lyrics tend to make my brain "sing along".

@CarolDM. Same here, sometimes, I can just hear the sound of the clock on the wall.

Music makes studying more pleasant, but also a bit harder to concentrate in my opinion.

I can actually study while listening to songs. Granted I might sing along with some of them, but they energize me to want to study and help me not be bored or tired. I did listen to classical music when I was in my twenties, but not since.

I started listening to some of the classical music in the past several months. I do find it relaxing while writing.

There is some evidence to suggest that classical music does help people to study.

When I was a student, I would turn on the TV while studying. These days I listen to Mozart when I need to focus on writing.
