What is the most unusual drink that you have ever had? I have to tell you about one called a Mamey Shake... It is pretty awesome but you might want to cut back on the sugar... The video gives an awesome recipe but wow... there is a lot of sugar in it... I had one in Florida but I don't remember it being quite as sweet as this recipe has to be... but I'm certainly curious!! I don't think that mine had ice cream in it... so it sounds like mine could have been a smoothie!! So, tell me the most unusual drink you have ever had... hot or cold for that matter!
Milk shake made with the tropical fruit Mamey.

I have not heard of that but it sounds interesting. I try to cut sugar whenever possible and so I am sure I wouldn't drink this very often. I think the most unusual thing would probably be a Jicema (I think is the spelling) water. It's made from the fruit and is supposed to be "good for the blood". I also enjoy Horchata, which is rice and cinnamon "water", though it's made with condensed milk.

I want to find out more on the fruit to see how little I can get away with, and now you have me interested in this Jicema Water... Never hear of that or Horchata!!

@Hate2Iron Do your local walmart's have a section for latino based foods? It might be there, on the top shelf. Now it's not the same as it's not "From scratch" but it's there all the same.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't think so... but I will look just in case. We have foods from India, China and England, but that's about it! I miss our time living in the US!!

I won't drink/eat it for its sugar content.

That is probably wise... But I am curious to make my own smoothie to see just how much sugar if any... you actually need to add. Next time we are in Florida... I'm going to buy one :)
