For those of you who’ve experienced weight gain from birth control, have you found a method that doesn’t cause this?

Wish I'd had that problem. Every time they gave me Depo shot, my period would start and be heavier and longer than normal. Same thing with the pill. From what I read the weight gain has more to do with water retention. With water retention you need to reduce salt intake and increase your fluids to flush your system

Almost any type of oral contraceptive is going to have some side effects, I guess trying and over the counter diuretic could help a little.

Pills have never caused me weight gain, although laziness and overeating sure does!

My youngest was on birth control and it caused her to hold about 5 to 8 lbs of water weight/bloat. She was switched to Yasmine I think it was called and it helped a lot. She is no longer on birth control and eight months pregnant. She said she will go back on Yasmine.

I got the Nexplanon implant about 6 months ago and although the doctor said that I might gain about 5 lbs over the course of the next three years, I have not noticed any weight gain. I also pay attention to what I eat, workout daily, and my job is physically demanding. I love the implant though. It is so easy and I have not felt any side effects, plus I don't have anymore heavy periods!
