Sunshine After the Storms

Last night was a long night. Not much sleep listening to the rain, wind, thunder and lightning.
Thankfully all is well today. Woke up to sunshine. Still very windy. We may get more rain later but hopefully not more tornado warnings.
It takes awhile to assess the damage after so many tornadoes come through. I read about the one in Texas killing two children tragically.
And in Mississippi five were killed. Not sure of any more details right now. I just know many have lost everything and others are without power.
I am so thankful things were ok here. We have to remember life can change in a moment.
And thank you to my friends here who asked how I was today. You and your kindness are all appreciated very much.

I am so touched by the news about the children who lost their lives due to the tornadoes and their consecuences. I am glad that you're safe and it is all going well in your area Carol. Thank you for keeping us informed!

It may get stormy here later tonight. It is a bit breezy today and kind of hazy. We will see what comes.

@CarolDM It has been overcast all day..felt a few sprinkles well out earlier..but I think the rain might happen tonight..as I have heard.

So sad what storms can do. =(
Overnight my husband said it was storming really bad, I slept through it apparently. We have cloudy weather right now but later this afternoon we are supposed to have more storms.

In what part of your house do you stay during these storms? We have always been told to go into the basement or a bath tub, etc.

It sounds like you had a close call last night with the severe storms.
I am very glad to hear that you weathered the storms unscathed.
We have a bit of rain this morning, but no storms.
My heart goes out to all of those who lost so much, that's so sad.

Glad to see the storms have passed you by. We're about to get nailed by a large band of storms moving east. And, just to make it more interesting, my hiker son is somewhere out in the wilderness near the NC/GA line. I'm hoping he has found someplace dry to hunker down for the duration.
