I have made myself all that I dreamed of as a child. I am a writer, mother, wife, and businesswoman. I am a strong but caring soul. That is what I have made myself!

I got a job as a salesman by pleading with my boss to just give me a chance and it worked out and made a living off of it for about 40 years.

I am a self made business woman, no proper training. Owner and operator of rental property and Sunshine`s Homestead Creations. On the side I care for sick family.

I used to do a lot of crocheting... I even sold quite a few patterns. I just stopped for a second to wonder why I ever stopped and then I remembered. It was called a full time job and that pretty much took over my life. ;)

I'm not going to say that I made myself anything because most of what I've become was taught to me by others. My parents taught me to be honest and hard-working, and at my age I'm still working full-time cashiering and I run the business in the warm months that my husband began back in the nineties. I've only been doing the majority of the business, though, for about eleven years.
I've had many types of jobs and if money ever became a problem for the world at large I know I could get a job just about anywhere. I've also done needlework like many here, but I've not done that since finding sites like mylot to hang out at.

This is probably entirely out of context with your thoughts here, but I have made myself a lot of money. The trick is, after being so frugal all these years, and being an incessant saver, to let go and enjoy more of what I have in the bank. As many people tell me, I am not getting any younger and you cannot take it with you. Incidentally, the wife and I have no children, so we're not sure who we will leave it to. Probably close nieces and nephews. But who knows? I AM the rich uncle everyone talks about that I always wish I had. lol

Miss Ruby looks so comfy. I retired from the US Treasury after 23 years there. It wasn't my choice of career but what I went to when I became ill with my arthritis and had to give up hauling oil. I went back to college to be a eligibility worker and move on to social work but a friend at the college where I found a job while attending pushed me to interview for the other and they wanted me. I had young kids and my college job was going away so I took it. Sometimes I miss it and sometimes I don't.
