What is my password?

Philippines

One of the goods that was inside of the box was a desktop computer, with two CPU's. I'm supposed to get rid of but I've tried the other one and turns out it still works. I get to used one of my old hard-disk that contains information about going back more than years. But the problem it has a user log in password that I have long forgotten. I remember that in order to salvage the files I had to convert from Windows to Ubuntu. I hope that transferring files would be a lot more easier and cheap now. Have a nice day

It is an open source operating system. They are free so you can get them freely if you are not able to purchase for the costly Microsoft OS to install on your PC.

@Letranknight2015 That's good. When it comes to things like this, I am not that up to date on them. I know, when I did mine, it was a pain.

I guess you can do that if you’re familiar with the two operating systems.

@Letranknight2015 oh be careful doing so because it might damage your old hdd further. Ubuntu is not that user friendly like windows is. It takes some getting used to it since they have their own version of using it.

I hate when I can't remember old passwords, that is why I decided all of them would be the same for all the sites I use. I can't deal with hundreds of passwords.

Hello @jvicentevalera I'm limited to different types of passwords but this was more than ten years ago so the password was different.

I hope everything goes well for you. I hate transferring, categorizing, or anything of the sort cause it never fails to take up so much of my time.

I hate passwords! I used to use the same one for everything and so had no trouble remembering it. But with every site wanting something different (caps, numbers, unique characters) I've given up trying to remember them. I write them down, but in a cryptic way, and I sometimes forget that, too.

Hello @BarBaraPrz If only I had time to write the password and put it into the wall to save it for later.

It is good to list the passwords in a notebook for reference.

@Letranknight2015 So is there something that says if you forgot your password and you check that and it will go to your e-mail so you can do a new one?

Hello @Tonietta Wished I had taken that course, but one subject related to that back in college was hard enough. I had my brother who is experience in computers to help me in an assignment that was worthless in the end.
