why is that eating the food cooked by others is better than the food cooked by you?

im not a terrible cook because my friends like it. but why is it that i dont like.to eat my food. and what i.like is the food prepared by others? i would like.to think that maybe i have smelled all the aroma from the start so that i lose my appetite already. do you also experience the same?

Maybe because you are familiar with how your food will taste that is why it looks like their cooking is way tastier than yours. It is the element of surprise in the taste buds that is making others look better than your own cooking which is already embedded on your nose and taste buds.

@Janet357 Yes that is usually the case for most who cooks their own food. Your familiarity with the ingredients and how it will taste is already too familiar and might be boring for your taste already. But in other cooked food will taste different therefore interesting to your taste buds thereby having them feel like their cooking is better than yours.

It is usually nice when someone else cooks for you! It is far more enjoyable when someone has cooked although I do not mind cooking I don't enjoy eating it as much.

@Janet357 No it is incredibly expensive to eat out in restaurants in the UK. We rarely go to restaurants. We mainly eat at home cooking food from scratch.

@Janet357 I know many people which work in bakery but they don't eat almost nothing from it, maybe only bread because of smell.

Maybe it is just better when you know someone else took the time to prepare the meal --not sure though

Everyone has different tastes, I don't like to waste food ... Whatever it feels like I still eat it and add something to the taste.

With me I hardly ever try new recipes so even though I do cook many different things they just seem to get old. When I eat food prepared by others it tastes so good. I think it is because they fix different things then what I do and might be using different spicesthen what I use.
