What's for breakfast this morning?

I decided to go with a newish twist on my usual breakfast. My usual breakfast is sourdough toast, butter, cream cheese, and a slice of lox. Today I replaced the slice of lox with a slice of avocado, for no particular reason. It was good. Coffee and a slice of peach (on the side) were also involved. How about you? (The photo is from the other morning when I had tragically run out of cream cheese.)

Thank God that you haven't grown up as an Italian. Then you couldn't write so many breakfast posts. Most Italians don't have breakfast. Just a cup of espresso and that's it. Wouldn't fill a post. :-(

@TheHorse Four-year-old Italian children get breakfast. It's milk and a biscuit or two. I was talking about grown-ups.

@MALUSE Ah, thanks for the info. Are soft boiled eggs common as food for children? For some reason I associate soft boiled eggs with either Italy or Switzerland.

The coffee I'm drinking is "called" espresso, but I brew regular sized cups with the stuff. I think I could survive as an Italian (actually I did for a year, but I was only four), so long as I was allowed to "graze" a bit in the fridge.

@JohnRoberts bananas can make us last for a couple of hours and so that is a good breakfast sometimes.

@wolfgirl569 I've been hard boiling them lately. And sometimes I do a slow fry where I add cheese, avocado, onions, etc.

Sounds good to me. I'm off to Trader Joe's. Should I buy some eggs? I don't want to get tired of eggs.

I eat avocado toast often. I just mash it and spread it on my toast and sprinkle a bit of salt on top. I only had a cup of coffee and a small dish of fruit today.

@DianneN The problem is that we get expensive imported Avocados here and I would have to save especially for buying them.

I snuck a slice of leftover BBQ as I was waking up and brewing my coffee. Don't tell anyone. Your breakfast sounds like lunch!

Ah, that sounds good as well. I've discovered that sour dough bread lasts longer than bagels in my fridge.

I had a bagel with cream cheese this morning. Every Tuesday Panera has a Bakers Dozen bagels for half price. I buy them, and freeze them, and eat one whenever I get a craving.

I wonder why bagels don't last as long as sourdough bread. Freezing some sounds like a good idea.

Your toast is a bit too much dark, it's dangerous, avoid this. I had yogurt and blueberries and fresh apricots and two espresso, this was not a morning for drip coffee.

Oh so another breakfast post by you! Well yesterday I had a Friday leftover preparation of Rice - Khichdi along with salted potato sticks and clarified butter. Khichdi is light and easy to digest. Today the breakfast and lunch would be merged and it would be heavier stuff.
