Stock Market Ding-Dings

Why is it when the Stock Market takes a dive that at the end of the day you've got all those folks standing up on the platform with the bell ringing and they're smiling and clapping? Have I missed something? You would think they'd be upset; not smiling. Back in the 30's when the Stock Market crashed, you had people jumping out of 20-story windows. Even in 2008 when this country had a serious recession; they were smiling and clapping at the bell. Am I the only one who sees them do this?

Plain and simple. It's a buying opportunity. The stock market always goes back up, and always goes back up higher than where it left off before the decline. Most of the money made in the stock market is not made while it is going up. Most of the money in the stock market is made after people buy into the dip and ride it all the way back up. On top of that, if you have short positions, you make a massive amount of money on the way down.

That is odd but I have no idea why they are reacting that way.

It is weird; unless they know which ones are gonna fail and they transfer 'their' money to something else @1hopefulman .

@nanette64 I guess we will both remain clueless as to why those people are smiling and clapping?

Hello! Nice to see you back after a long break. I hope you're well. I'm not a one to answer your question. The Stock Market is a foreign continent for me.

Hi Sweetness. I think the Stock Market is 'foreign' to the US thinkers too. @MALUSE
