What is the significance of history?

History can hardly be repeated. Therefore, history does not hold value for most of the people. Do you feel that we should be concerned with our present times more than our past times?

When we are polluting the planet and have the power to cause horrible destruction then I think we should all be concerned over the state of present affairs.
