Should We All Just Fall In Line???

I heard a comment this week that went like this: "If there were no religion we could all just move forward as a society." The thought of something or someone outside the realm of what we see and do is a part of human history. You a right to believe what you want to believe. It makes us who we are in the moment of time we live in. But to want to erase that because it doesn't fit into your opinion is dangerous, and well, done before. Thousands, if not millions have died because of that thought. Eventually people who think that way just move to the next thought process or people in their way. Be careful.

For many, religion is a way of life. It is the crutch that gets them from minute to minute. Whether we agree with their belief system or not, religion will not be going away anytime soon. Yes, there have been wars fought in the name of religion. More often however, I believe religion is used (to it's detriment) as a rally point to gather warriors rather than actually fighting over specific beliefs or systems. (just my 2 cents worth)

God gave everyone a different view to guaranty mankind a larger view than any one person could have. Diversity is a good thing. Diversity is something we can not afford to loose at this stage. Get rid of Religion???? Religion currently is serving a purpose. Religion is a catalyst which brings so many people's problems to the surface so they can be dealt with. We can not afford to loose that either. On the other hand, in the distant future, Religion will become obsolete. This will happen when science finally bumps into God. At this point God will cease to be a belief and all the stories mankind created over the years will cease as well.

Although I do not believe in God or religion, I think in many cases it is good that they are around, many religions probably keep people in line a bit. They give them something to fear. Many would be completely lost without religion.
