In here, expect vendors climbing inside the bus and selling many things. Foods like rice delicaciea we call puto, bibingka and crunchy fruit snacks like banana crispy, oranges, apples, grapes and bottled water and sodas. The vendors got baskets to put their products like the fried peanut vendor and the fried chicken vendors. Its a way of living, its their livelihood to support their families. The drivers and conductors allow them because they understand them. When you're hungry, no worries, expect in one station that their are bus vendors. They know what to sell like during summer they sell very cold water. Sometimes I buy and many times don't. I'm afraid of some foods like the fried and made cook foods that it might contaminate my stomach. Diarrhea is a nightmare when you're traveling. Mostly I buy are fruits and fruit snacks for my kids waiting at home.

Yeah that is a norm in our buses that these bus vendors are there. Sometimes they can be annoyingly noisy selling them but when you have the need to fill your tummy while travelling long distance you won't mind them entering the bus to sell their products. That is true that you should also be wary that some food may not be to your tummy's liking and suffer from diarrhea.

@ilocosboy it is especially irritating when you’re traveling at night then the bus stops and there they are even in the middle of the night they would sell their goods even to us sleeping riders. Although they would not insist their goods if you ignore them.

I usually buy the cashew even if it is expensive but at least I have something to ease the boredom inside the bus.

@Alexandoy , Any time and now a days in school text books they stress the students to have peanuts instead of other expensive nuts as both have more or less similar nutritive value and the benefits!

@ilocosboy Many years ago my husband and I visited Mexico. There is a train from the centre of the capital Mexico City to the pyramids. I remember several people walking from wagon to wagon traying to sell things. While I was watching the vendors, someone stole my wallet out of my bag which I had slung round my neck. I have to admire the pickpocket! I think all these people work together. Fortunately, I didn't lose much money. I did lose tickets for a folklore festival, though.

This modus also rampant in metro city, so many kinds of scam like a vendor just asking how many are you, when you replied like "3", they will replied the amount and you pay knowing he's the bus conductor, he will leave and then return with bottled water or anything. You may argue with them but later on realize you will not win because this is their way of scamming and they're good in reasoning and quarreling. And pickpocketing, they are here too.

@ilocosboy It is. I’m afraid I’d get sick eating certain things when not in my home country.

We used to have such vendors during my childhood when I used to travel in the bus to attend by school and college! There after I never boarded any bus to see if these things things are still continuing or not as the government policies have become strict now a days!

I remember when I was a kid and we're travelling to the south.. I used to buy boiled quail eggs from these vendors... Before, it was 10 pieces for 10 pesos... Now they're selling it at 5 pieces for 10 pesos... I don't buy that often now.

@ilocosboy That is so nice the drivers allow the vendors to sell their stuff on the bus. I can understand that you decide what you want to buy and what you do not.

And because of your post, I remember that I inserted bibingka in the pocket of my bag and I'm eating it now. Yes, this is helpful when you do not have food brought during your long journey.
