What is the weirdest question you were ever asked?

weirdest question

I just thought of doing this as a discussion topic remembering one of the weirdest questions I was ever asked by a recruitment officer. I knew he was testing how snappy I am and was trying to conclude how I organize my thoughts without much grace of time. Anyway, he asked me, " If you were a pencil trapped in a blender, how would you get out?" He was looking straight into my China eyes but I confidently answered, " Well since I am a pencil and I am immobile, I guess I will just have to accept my fate of being crushed into tiny bits.", looking back at him I answered not looking away not even for a second. That answer took me to the next round. Yes, that was a pre-qualifier/screening question and I had to undergo 5 interview sessions and one long assessment before landing the job. How about you? What's your unforgettable, bizarre question? How did you answer it? Mechanics : 1.) Entry could either be in an interview and/or regular Q&A drill. I just cited an example that was in an HR interview setting. 2.) This discussion aims to collect some information about weird questions we all have encountered. But chill, there is no wrong or right answer. Just relax. Express your thoughts and don't forget to have some fun too. Let's ROCK and ROLL!!! Lemme hear you and your magnificent story. :)

At the place I was applying to they have a certain goal to meet of different races. So they asked me what nationality I was. This was back in the early 80's. I answer and the 1 of the 3 people interview, threw the hands in the air, and walked out.. They needed to hire a minority and my answer was white, I felt weird having to answer that, because honestly I am mixed with hispanic and white, but said white, because I look white, and people never think I have hispanic in me. So I did not get the job, they hired an African American.

@CzianneL_Andrea , now I am retired, but moved on from that bad experience, . I think the discrimination goes on and just not recognized. I know my last company, the boss did not hire people of color, or people with kids. He felt this group of people missed the most work.

It is very sad to hear about racial discrimination that variously impacts the world up to now. I hope that you are now working or doing the BEST business that you can be in TODAY.

That is an odd one. I probably have been asked some weird interview questions but none spring to mind..I have often been asked questions that I wasn't sure how to answer though.

Very strange question. Glad you landed the job. I was a teacher, so many questions applied to teaching methodology.

Thanks! Actually, I am no longer a part of that company. I am to kick-start my new Executive Sales account campaign at Medvocation on the 3rd or 4th week of November. Can you please cite one of those questions?

@CzianneL_Andrea Congratulations! One of the questions was how I would use technology in the classroom to enhance student learning.
