Are snakes/animals a danger where you live?

A few days ago I saw this news report on the BBC about snake bites and saw that about 100,000 people die each year as a result. That is about 273 people each day that are killed by snakes! I was shocked! Were you aware of this pestilence?
I was surprised to see that so many are killed by snakes and that is just one beast!
Are snakes/animals a danger where you live?

Apparently mosquitoes kill about 1 million people each year.

@LadyDuck Yes, and they can sneak up on anyone, climb practically anything and hide very easily.

Snakes are not a great danger in every country. Just the sight of a snake gives me the creeps.

Mosquitoes are even deadlier than snakes. Mosquitoes are estimated to kill about 725,000 people every year. That's one sneaky insect!

Yes, I saw some estimates that mentioned that mosquitoes can kill up to a million people each year which is a lot more than snakes but I already knew the casualties they cause but was surprised by the number of snake casualties.

@samysotelo18 Do you see many snakes around where you live? I think that in the last 60 years, I may have seen about 4 snakes in this area.
When I was a kid and lived in Italy, I saw many snakes but thankfully I was never bitten by one.

Not many snakes in this area - might live in other places.. We lived in the country when I was 10 years old, but the snakes there are not the most dangerous, and we had to be careful to not step on them

I was surprised to see that news story and then I read about the beasts killing in Revelation and thought how the prophecies are fulfilled in every detail.

I'm not sure what kind of a snake that is but they are all creepy and scary to me. I would not want to live in an area that has any kind of snakes.

Wow, that's sad. Snakes are no danger to Oahu. We have had bouts with lung worm disease from eating not to clean fresh vegetables though.

I'm glad you have no problems with snakes! It is the first I hear on the lungworm infection. We have to make sure our vegetables are clean.
