Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!

It's turkey day here in the US, a day to spend time with family, give thanks for all the blessings in our life, eat copious amounts of food, and for some...watch football.
I know it's cold where a lot of people live, so I thought I'd warm you up a little this morning with a beach photo where my son and I were camping last weekend. Well, technically, it's above the beach line where the protective coastal dunes start, but it gives you the idea of the perfect mild Florida day.
I know it's going to be a busy day for many, getting ready for the feast later, but for me it's going to be a nice relaxing day. The gf went home to spend the day with her family, and my kiddos will probably sleep in until noon. We already have all the food prepared, so I'm going to just sit here and enjoy the morning with a cup of coffee and myLot while I still have some peace and quiet on my hands!

The photo could have been taken in Germany at the North Sea coast. Of course, the temperature there would be quite different from what you have got now.
Europeans don't have special plans for today as they don't celebrate Thanksgiving Day. No reason for this in our part of the world!

@moffittjc I used to live in the North of Germany, yet not really near the coast. I liked it there, the landscape and the people. But I studied in the South and found a job in a town between Stuttgart and Munich. (Maybe you have an idea where these cities are. Stuttgart means Mercedes and Munich means BMW 
).
I don't like the landscape so much, too many hills and mountains and the mentality of the people here is still alien for me - even after living among them for decades.

So that's what your northern coast looks like? Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, beaches are beaches are beaches, no matter where in the world you live! Do you live close to the north coast?

Thank you Anna! It's been beautiful here in Florida all week, with nice mild temperatures and warm sunshine. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right

@moffittjc It's 6:50 in the morning, it is still dark but I see the sky full of stars, I suppose we are going to have a sunny Friday, it's 34 F outside this morning.

@moffittjc The errands went well. Got them done pretty quickly. The weather has gotten colder. It wasn't so bad in the middle of the week, but the temperatures have dropped. How's your weather?

@dodo19 Temperatures are plummeting right now as we speak. Starting tomorrow, the next three days will be the coldest of the winter for us so far. I'm excited for the super cold weather (don't laugh, we don't get too much of that down here, so it's like a treat to us!)

@NJChicaa Nice! Two of my favorite sides! I made a wonderful green bean casserole last week for our company Thanksgiving luncheon.
When I was little, I used to help my mom every year at Thanksgiving by pitching in to help with the mashed potatoes. I would peel the potatoes, boil them, and then mash them up really good before my mom would take over and work her magic. Of course, I look back now and see that she gave me the tedious, mundane task that she probably hated doing, but for me I loved doing it.

Thank you. I hope you enjoyed your holiday! If you think about it, we are so miserable here in Florida most of the year because of the heat and humidity, so it's nice that we finally get some weather that the rest of the country envies!

@YrNemo I think we say the same thing about people who live up north and choose to live in those frigid winters you have! haha
But I do agree with you. Every year I ask myself why the hell I continue to live in a place hotter than the surface of the sun.
