Crocheting while watching television

My daughter scolds me for crocheting while watching television and then blames me for not focusing on what I'm watching when I ask what's happening. I agree with her but I just can't sit down quietly and watch the television. I need to be doing something with my hands. If not crocheting, I probably would be eating which is a bad habit. So I believe crocheting is the healthier choice. What do you think?

I tried to stop smoking many years ago by crocheting. I learned how to smoke while I crocheted. Luckily I quit by other means later on.

That's amazing how you can smoke and crochet at the same time. I thought that when my husband got addicted to the games on his smartphone, he will not smoke that much. But I was wrong. He can play the games on his phone and smoke at the same time. it's great that you finally stop smoking. How did you do that?

Maybe you can listen to some music while crocheting

You must have a television in every room of your house.

That's lovely, it reminds me of what my grandmother and mother did when we were kids. I don't think there's something wrong by being productive while watching T.V.

Yeah. It's just that sometimes I miss some parts of the show on television.

It's better to crochet than eat while watching TV. At least afterwards you will be proud of your creativity and it will not be just passing time in front of the TV.

That is right. But then, I will not be aware what's happening on the television. And crocheting does stop me from eating in front of the TV. It's healthier. And I can lose some weight. Hehe

@besweet It certainly does. Better than snacking in front of the TV. And gaining weight. In fact, after I started crocheting, I've been eating less. I do need to lose weight.

That's a very pretty piece of work! Yes, same here, I usually crochet while I am watching movies or any videos. I usually find something to do while watching videos, so I can get more things done and won't get too guilty for just watching videos (for entertaining). Though it's good to focus, I also agree that crocheting is a healthy choice!

It's not difficult. There are many YouTube tutorial videos that teach you to crochet from the very basic stitch. If you're really interested, you can do anything.

I do not watch TV for very long time, so I sit down and I do nothing.
