Do you feel if Congress approves stimulis per child April-July is good or bad

Congress and The president are considering due to the Covid-19 crisis to mail checks to every USA adult and child $1000 per adult and $500 per child. Do you think this a good or bad thing? Would such a check for the next four months per family member help you and what would you do with it.
I am not sure it is a good thing but it would help people and give people incentive to spend money online or in stores as able. Our mortgage balance is $10,500. My husband and I would each get $1000 each a total of $8000 total. We would likely pay our mortgage off with this or close to it.
Allowing the money we have been paying monthly to be used for other needs. Our grandson and two sons who live with us as well said they would us it to one fix his truck, another buy a better vehicle and the other son buy a crawler tractor and building supplies and trees.
It would be nice but not sure if it will happen or not. Or how long this would be. Others said it might be a one time check per person in the family. Either way I know we would apply it to pay our mortgage down sooner. If this happens or you got extra money beyond what you normally do what would you use it for.? Do you think this is a good idea if Congress and the White House does this for USA during this crisis?

It is supposed to be a one time payment of up to $1200 per person and $500 per child or dependent. They MAY do a second round, but that is looking more unlikely. As for what I think about it? Generally stimulus checks like this do not work. It will HELP, don't get me wrong. But what we really need to do is reopen the economy and get people back to work.

I agree and the things being done with the shut down has nothing to do with the Covid-19 virus. It is like the states are running wild with illegal unconstitutional behavior. Treating American people like we are in China or Nazi Germany. Not allowing seeds or plants is wrong. Arresting people sitting in cars for church is wrong as well. Those are not about the virus but gestapo behavior which violates all our freedom and laws for such. Especially arresting families who reside in the same home for attending church meeting, keeping space staying in own vehicles. That was just wrong. Some Governors are out of control beyond reason.
