Spring watch

Spring watch is a nature programme here in the U.K., it’s on for about 2 weeks each year. There’s also an autumn and winter watch. This year it started on Tuesday and I’ve been watching it each night. It’s a bit different this year as the presenters are all on their own, in the area they live. There’s the New Forrest, Wales, Cornwall and the banks of the Thames. I’ve found it a bit more interesting as it’s places each of the presenters know really well, and you can see how much they have loved watching the wildlife in their area. The other difference this year is they’ve all commented on how much most of the wildlife have benefited from not having so many people about this year. While I’ve been on lockdown I’ve really enjoyed watching and feeding the birds here. There are loads of different ones, and it’s lovely to know I’m helping them in a small way as they go about their busy lives. I’m looking forward to seeing some of their babies. The photo is a robin, probably one of the uks favourite birds.

yes it is, mostly this time of year it's all about the baby animals.

@nawala123 both, the Cornwall section is following beavers, but there are a lot more birds. You can view live cameras of the birds nests online.

So cute! Nature is certainly thriving thanks to less people around. The common birds here, particularly the mourning doves, sparrows, and jays are pretty busy in our yard.

@Dragonairy1 Some of those birds take off super fast . . . by the time you get your camera/phone, they're long GONE . Oh - there is a collared dove couple here . . . I swear I have only seen 2 here in the past few years.

We've got a regular jay here too, although I've not managed to get a decent photo of him yet, we also get sparrows (think everyone does ) and collared doves.
