Cat Fight!

Well, anyone who remembers my Doodles the cat, may he and his sister Rest In Peace, will be interested to know that he did not like other cats. My son and I were walking him outside when he noticed our new kitty statue on the left side of my photo. He hissed at it and smacked it with his paws and even tried to bite it! It made him so upset.q We had to hide it in our garage facing the wall. We hadn’t bothered to put the other kitty statue out, and it, too, faced the wall. Now, as my Doodles and his sister, Kuma, rest in our garden, the bad kitty is next to Kuma, and the prettier kitty guards over Doodles. No more cat fights.

I have a cat statue in my house and my cats go over to it and rub against it all the time. They probably wonder why it does not move. If they would ever break it. That would be ok.

@DianneN They even like the two cats next door. When the people next door are at work all four are laying on their porch.

Hmm, I wonder what Doodles would think if he was being guarded by cat statues? My former dog had a toy that was always his favorite..a squeaky bone. I never let Jax play with it. I think I am going to put the squeaky bone next to his pic. I hadn't decided what I was going to do with it. Beau the dog in my profile pic would not approve of Jax playing with the squeaky bone for sure.

@DianneN I just buried my cat with his collar. He did have some favorite toys though. He loved the furry worm.

Doodles is very happy now with no pain and a heart filled with love. I think the pretty kitty statues will make him feel loved now. I would definitely put the squeaky bone next to Beau. Jax needs his own toys. We buried Doodles with his favorite Mr. Mouse and Mr. Goosie. Kuma went away with her favorite ripped to shreds boxing glove.

How odd that a statue which doesn't move and, above all, *smell* of cat made your cat aggressive.

I hope Doodles is playing nicely with so many other cats in kitty heaven now, with no hatred, anger or animosity towards any of them. And may he be smiling down on you the whole time he is up there playing. I like your kitty statues, they are very lovely.

@DianneN I'm glad your dream about him was a good one, and that you were also able to place the statues in a very fitting location. I'm sure it's much better than them sitting in the garage where no one can enjoy them. I had a dream about my dad last night, and it was also a good one! So glad that both of us had good dreams about loved ones!

@moffittjc Thanks so much! I'm so glad you had a wonderful dream about your dad last night, too. I had a dream about my mother a few days ago, and it left me with such a good feeling and a happy smile. I think they want us to know that they are watching over us, and want us to know that they are at peace and happy.

@DianneN - Hi! I thought I would drop back into MyLot and see what everyone is up to. Your post made me smile. I have seen videos of deer attacking deer statues, too. Amazing they cannot tell the difference! I hope you and your husband are doing well during quarantine. Are you in Florida or back up north?

@DianneN - Good to see you, too. Enjoy being safe and at home in Connecticut. The northeast seems to have controlled Covid-19 much better than the rest of the U.S. Our daughter who lives in Hastings-on-Hudson is nervous about schools trying to start, again. Their school was one of the first in the nation to close down last spring, when a father of two students tested positive. Now, she wonders if the schools will do the same thing again. Will they close if a parent tests positive? How will they handle kids with colds, the flu, allergies or pink eye? Will schools close until a kid with a cold gets a negative covid-19 test result? She is afraid it will be chaotic, at best.

@DeborahDiane Thanks! We are still playing it very safe. Our son, his wife, and grandkids bought a house in the New Jersey suburbs to escape NYC. The kids had their camps closed, so the house they bought has everything they need to keep them busy. They kids will NOT be returning to school. My grandson attended a private school and had an excellent online program last year and will continue with it when school begins. My granddaughter began a private online school and was accepted into the gifted and talented program. She finds it challenging and loves it, so will continue with it. I hope your daughter can find an alternative to sending the kids back to school, which in my opinion, is a ridiculous and highly unsafe place for kids to be in right now.

Well not the best reason for no more cast fights but at least you got the statues done while they were still alive and they can still grace your garden or walkway. As the doodles pumpkin grows up maybe you can put it under the statues feet for a few days or would that be weird.

@DianneN I didn't mean to put the pumpkins... Of I started that incorrectly. I was thinking more to have the pumpkins at their feeder not under them like your put a bouquet of flowers at a memorial. For doodles the pumpkin would mean more than flowers anyway.
