I would have never suspected this. A couple my husband and I have known since College, my husband was a groomsman in their wedding, got divorced after 32 years of marriage. They have 9 children and a few grand kids!!!
I even learned online that the guy just remarried!
This is a couple who I really thought would never divorce.
I really am surprised. It is true you never really know what is happening behind closed doors.
Have you been thrown for a loop, thinking a couple would never divorce after having so many kids and being married for decades and then they go their separate ways?

Unfortunately this happens a lot often especially if the kids are all adults now. The marriage might just have turned out to be a ''project'' to get the children through school and college and if these objectives are achieved, the ''project'' is no longer relevant.

Some just want to get married to have children and get so involved in that, that they grow a part.

Life is like that, there are always surprises and reasons for divorce of couples that we cannot imagine. When the conflict is not resolved, there is no common voice, soul and lifestyle harmony, a divorce will happen even after having many children and happy years.

The couple I mentioned above, I would love to know why they divorced. Hopefully one day I will find out.

@LeaPea2417 If they want to share, you can know the main reason for their divorce. If they don't say anything, just let it go because they all have their own choices.

What makes it more of a shock, is the couple went to a Christian religious College (where they met). I guess it doesn't matter how religious a person is, divorce happens in different situations.

@LeaPea2417 Yes, it doesn't matter at all these days it seems. My son's ex was a true Christian, but that didn't keep her from breaking the Ten Commandments - cheating and lying.

I knew of one couple many, many years ago. None since then. Have a good Sunday.
