I Can’t Think Straight!

OMG! What a day and it’s only morning here!
As I ran downstairs to go for my early morning walk, I found a box of doughnuts on the foyer floor by our locked front door. Our younger son was up early and drove miles to our family favorite doughnut shop to buy us this surprise before they were all sold out. We are so blessed to have him so nearby.
And if that isn’t enough to keep me from thinking straight, our daughter-in-law is coming for a social distancing visit with our grandchildren! We haven’t seen them for almost 6 months! We are so blessed to have such a thoughtful and wonderful daughter-in-law and two precious grandkids. My older son will be staying with our two grand doggies at their house in New Jersey. Pizza and ice cream for all!
I will be on and off today. I’m too excited to think straight! What a wonderful Sunday!

That would be a great time for you and your family. So how do you plan to maintain distancing?
Would you talk with your masks on from a distance?
Or in some other ways?
And yes, such time does calls for a treat.

That is so awesome! Enjoy your grandchildren. I know I didn't need to tell you that. Give them lots of hugs, oh wait, you're social distancing. Air hug them then. I'm so glad they're coming to visit. Take pics. Their adopted grandma wants to see lots of pics. I know you enjoyed those donuts and then took your walk to walk off those delicious calories.
I went out to take a walk with my camera and it was starting to rain. It will need to wait now until I can walk and see at the same time since I'm having surgery tomorrow. I can't wait. It will be so awesome to see well again.

@much2say It was fabulous! The kids actually behaved and participated in adult conversations with wit and humor. We were floored!
. Just got off the phone with our younger son to rehash our time together. He expected the usual hitting, crying, arguing, etc. 
He was pleasantly surprised.

Wow what a wonderful Sunday surprise for you. I'm sure you enjoyed seeing your grandchildren and daughter in law after all this time.

@DianneN I saw my granddaughter and son in law yesterday. I've seen my granddaughter a few times lately but haven't seen my son in law in months. I was joking that I forgot what he looked like.
Glad you had such a wonderful time with your family. Not something we're bound to take for granted ever again.

That's a good surprise and such a great son as doing this thing for you. Its good to spend Sunday with family and its a long time to not see them. Hope there will be lot of fun on Sunday there.

@DocAndersen That must have been very difficult. I am glad we flew up from Florida twice before March to see the kids and these days, FaceTime helps tremendously.

@DianneN that is going to be a fun day! I remember being in Thailand and not seeing my grandparents for 2 years. It was really hard.
