We looked at a house and I have an interview tomorrow

Today I had to go to the pharmacy to get my sons medicine. It’s a long drive so I went to Hobby Lobby while we were out and a discount food place. At 3:30 we met with a realtor to look at a house. The property is nice and it’s got a lot of rooms. It has new plumbing and a fairly new water heater. One thing I don’t like is it only has a spring fed well. I do so much laundry I can’t see that working out. So we would likely need to have a well drilled. It is so much uglier then the photos showed. I absolutely hated everything about the inside of it. In order to make it nice we will have to drywall the ceilings, rip out the paneling and drywall the walls, tear up the lanolium and put down new floors, put new sinks and showers and toilets in all new counters and appliances etc. I do not want to live there until it’s fixed up. Unfortunately the loan my fiancé took out will only cover the cost of the house and some of the closing costs. We will have nothing left over to fix anything up. He only has $2000 cash saved. I’ve told him for years to stop buying guns and crap he doesn’t need so he will have savings and he didn’t listen. Maybe he will sell some guns now to pay for the remodeling but I doubt it. He doesn’t think it’s as bad as I do but his filthy house looks way nicer in comparison to this place and mine looks like a palace. The owners listed the property for sale 3 days ago and are closing the bidding tonight so we will find out tomorrow if that is where we will live in the future. I felt like crying after leaving that’s how much I hated the inside of that house but someday hopefully we can make it look nice if we own it. We will only have until winter before moving in so we won’t have to pay bills on two places. The good news is tomorrow is my interview at the library. I am so nervous.

@Shohana it really is a lot of money for me as well but for someone making $25 an hour and has worked for 20 years that is not much saved up.

@JudyEv thank you very much. We had engagement photos last night and I had the worst anxiety from it. I hate having my photos taken. I didn’t sleep the night before and after the photos even my anxiety was still so bad I felt sick to my stomach until I went to bed. I feel much better today. I got two table centerpieces done and made a to do list of all I need to buy and do by September 5th. I have almost everything bought now and onto the crafting.

@shaggin At least the photos are over with now. Are you going to put one up here to show us?

@JudyEv I never share photos of me here because I like to be anonymous but I’ll show you one then delete it after I know you’ve seen it. This is my favorite of the sneak peek she shared on Facebook.

I hope you get the library job. You are going to need the cash by the sound of it. If you hate the house, please don't move there!

@snowy22315 my sister saw the photos of the house and said “it def looks too old and would need way too much updating and needs to have the price lowered. Looks super old yuck”. Her boyfriend immediately said it would need a ton of work when he looked at the photos. With him not having much money saved up we would have to live there like that without remodeling it. So far he didn’t get a call about it so we assume we didn’t win the bid. An hour later he told me about another house he saw for sale. I would love to just be able to concentrate on one thing the next month only the wedding! I have to much anxiety going on.

@shaggin Thefe is no big rush to move into something immediately. It is more important to be happy with your choice.

@snowy22315 that’s how I feel but not him. The realtor called and told my fiancé he should put another 5000 on the price. I said no my fiancé and I argued over it via text for an hour and as usual he’s doing what he wants. The sellers were supposed to decide who gets it last night now suddenly it’s a bidding war. I had such anxiety today and it was just calming down and now it’s worse. I got a few things off my chest that had been bugging me though so that’s a plus.

@changjiangzhibin89 Thanks. We didn’t win the bid on the house so we won’t be living there and I’ll look for somewhere else after the wedding.

Oh wow. I just want to hug you. That house is scary awful from what you say. Remodeling in any form is expensive with a capitol E- a tiny bit of flooring work cost me around 2 thou and if you can do any of it yourself, its hard work plus decent flooring is not cheap. (Cheap stuff isn't worth it.) I wish you luck.

@sallypup not really scary awful but yes the entire thing would need to be remodeled. The loan was for $170,000 and all of that will go towards the house so there will be nothing left for repairs. We can’t get a new bed or new stove or anything. Years ago my ex did my dining room floor for me it was $1500.

@paigea no we didn’t. The realtor said it sold for a considerable amount more then the other bids. I’m worried what he will find next. Hopefully he waits until after the wedding for more house hunting as my nerves can’t handle it.

@paigea my parents own it so it will just sit empty until a grandkid needs to live here is my guess. By then the roof may leak though .

@shaggin I hope there is a decent place out there for you. Are you going to sell your place? Or rent it out?

I am in a fixer upper, but it is better than what we moved out of. Neither of us were savers when we both worked, and now I am the only one working. It is hard to keep up.

@GardenGerty that must be hard to change that way after so many years of not being savers. My husband mentioned really expensive books he wants to buy one being $90. I told him I got the library to order a copy from another library so he should be able to read it in a week or two. He said “it’s only $30 on the authors website”. I told him that’s a lot of money to waste in my opinion. He spends money left and right I only buy necessities. It worries me relying on his income due to that.

It is a pity that the house was so many problems. Can your fiancé do the remodeling?

@marguicha yes he worked with his father in carpentry for years as a teen so he will do the work on any house we buy. We didn’t win the bid on that house though.

@LadyDuck nope someone outbid us by a lot. Not sure if I’m happy or not because he may find something even worse in the future. I didn’t get the job either but got a really nice note attached to the rejection letter that of all the people they interviewed I was second.

@shaggin I am sorry you did not get the job, but it's good to know that at least you were second. I do not know either if to be happy or not about the house. I hope in a better luck the next time.

@DianneN we didn’t win the house nor did I get the job. I got a rejection letter and at the bottom was a note from the very sweet librarian saying she wanted to let me know of all the people they interviewed I was second. She said it was a very tough decision and she wishes she could have hired both of us. 21 days until the wedding eek.

@Courtlynn We didn’t get the house. We have taught pretty bad over things the past few days. I have engagement photos to do with him tomorrow and I don’t look forward to fake smiling. The interview talking portion went great but the technology test not as good. I was a lot more nervous with that part.

All the best for your interview at the library. The house you are planning to buy doesn't seem to be of your liking. The property dealer might have better option.
