check if its affected by a virus or something , malwarebytes is a great virus scanner and that is what I use . or the other reason might be lack of space . Your disk might be full . Try clearing up space .

Oh maybe check any one of the following. Look at the HDD space when your HDD has 25% or less space then it could slow down your PC you can remove some files that are not important anymore. Check also the defragmentation of your hard drive. When it is too fragmented it will also affect the speed of your PC to process things. Lastly check if you have been infected by a computer virus. Most Anti virus cannot screen and block virus from entering your PC.

Maybe it needs cleaning. Try to delete some applications you're not using and have some backup on external memory for files so your laptop can breathe because there's free space for it.
