a DIY face shield!

There is a new directive from our local government here, same as our national government, that every time we go out of our house, we should wear our face mask, maintain social distancing, and also wear face shields. We saw in the news last night that face shields cost only P50 per piece; the only problem is will they be available here or in any mall?!
When I was putting the rice pot in to the rice cooker this lunchtime, my sister asked me:"Can I ask an advice from you?" I replied, "Yes"! Then she showed herself...
She wore a DIY face shield with a cutout from a plastic bottle of 1.5liters of Coca Cola, tied securely at the back of her head, while wearing face mask.
I said, "That is good! We better make our own DIY which we can use when we go outside the house."
The DIY shield is good, though I told my sister to not tie it tightly because she might not breathe effectively.
How much is a piece of face shield in your place?

@ridingbet yes , they have face masks and shields.at Zazzle. I have only made the facemasks.. the shields they have are transparent with a design over them. you can position it where you want it. @hardtimes1958 these are masks that I have made.. and a few that others made that I liked..

We are supposed to wear a mask and social distance when we go out too. I have just seen people with them but have never found out how much they cost.

there are shields that cost more than P50 each. ours is just the simplest but it is good.

my sister already removed the garter when i bought 3 shields for the 3 of us. it ;looks like the one that somebody in your commment posted here.

I can't recall how much a face shield cost here, I have not worn it either. As for your sister's creation thumbs up to her!

she threw it the day our laundrywoman came at home. she said the garter got loose and it was cut at once.

@ridingbet I bought one for just 50 pesos but it's only plastics that they put together. The more expensive one is also just plastic.

I have seen several videos how to make face shields, from plastic bottles but also from plastic sheets and duct tape. We are only required to wear face masks, no face shields for the moment. You can buy very good and protective medical face masks that are expensive or "Chinese" masks at about $2 piece.

i tried taking a picture but my sister was the usual snob again. last saturday, i asked her so i can take a picture but she said she threw it already because the garter was loose and it got cut off.

the face shield that my sister was good, but when the laundrywoman came here last Saturday and i asked her where she bought her shield, she said her neighbor sells at P50 each.
my son went to the city this morning and he used face mask and face shield. it is hard not to follow our local government, 3 days community service is definitely not good.

I bought three from an online seller for P45 each.
I think it is also sold at 7-11 and SM. I am not sure if SM will sell it for P20 each...

right now, we three have our own shields. our laundrywoman though, gave my sister another one with the eyeglasses thingy to keep the shield in place.

@brokenbee yes hija. there is a foam at the interior of the shield. maybe it is also to prevent sweat? or so the shield will not adhere to the sweating face?
