Was it a Body?

The other night, I saw tail lights in my window. A car had its headlights shining straight at the large dumpster across the street. A man and a woman were struggling to pull something out of the trunk. It was wrapped in layers of white garbage bags. It was stiff and unyielding. One of them looked up and saw me peeping out the window. They hastily tried to stuff the package back in the trunk. They finally got it in and sped away. All I could think of was that it was a body. It was stiff, heavy, and hard to manage. What would you think in a similar situation? Why would they hide trash? Did they know that if they dumped it there that I would check it out?

Whatever they were doing, it was clearly illegal. I would have taken the license number (if I were able to see it) and the details of the car and the people and called the police. In the UK, the contents of a dumpster (or skip, as we know them) are the property of the person who hired it until it is removed by the hiring company and it is illegal to either put things in it or to take things out without the permission of the owner, not that that would matter, of course, if one were to try to dispose of body that way!

I don't know what these people were doing but if they were trying to get rid of a body, I don't think they would care about dumpster laws. They left as soon as they knew I was watching. I should have turned off my light.

@TheHorse I usually don't look when someone drives up to the dumpster. But, for some reason, I needed to see who it was.

They were obviously up to no good or they would simply have carried on with what they were doing.

I think I would be scared if I had to investigate it and it was a body. Then I would have to call the police and be a witness. I am glad they left. I have no idea who they were so I won't worry about it. I just wondered what the people of myLot thought about it.

@akalinus Same with me, It would be a big responsibility to be a witness cause you really have to say things you have witnessed the face of the suspects and stuffs.

@annavi23 Yeah, I would hate to be in that position. I am so glad they left but wonder what was in that package that they could not dump it with someone watching.

People illegally try to use someone else's dumpster, it could have been anything but they knew they weren't supposed to be dumping anything int it. when our house burned down there was a dumpster in the driveway and amazing amount of other people's trash ended up in it.

We had the same thing in the 1980. Our house burned down and we had a dumpster. The whole neighborhood used it.

Wow, I would have thought the same thing. Very suspicious.

@akalinus I would also be watching the news to see if a body was found in a dumpster.

@simone10 I hope it was not a body, but their behavior was suspicious.

Yes, it is. Now I look if I see brake lights reflected in my window but I have not seen that car or couple again.

I am wondering who it could be if it really is a body. Why would they leave it in the park?

I hope it was not that. Maybe it was just illegal trash that they decided to dump somewhere.

You've got a mystery on your hands. Follow local news and see if anything turns up, then come back here and update us if anything comes of it.

I have not heard anything but a lot of stuff out here never makes the news because we are more rural.

@Namelesss It is the same in most rural areas. Unless it is awful enough to make the national news, we never hear about most things.
