The nursing home will be here in an hour to pick me up. I am dressed and ready to go. I've had my last PT visit. I didn't know if I would have time to work here before I left, but it looks like I do.
I want to thank you all for your support and well wishes over these last four days. I'm doing better even than this morning when the therapist was here. So, hopefully, it's a good sign that I won't be in the nursing home too long,
Don't get me wrong, my leg still hurts like a SOB. I still have a long road ahead of me. But as we all know, the road gets shorter with every step. These last four days shows me what to expect next time. I'll definitely be better prepared.
The nursing staff was awesome. Today, I had a student nurse. She was so nice and gentle like everyone here has been.
My only complaint is the food. It's all processed except for the lettuce salads and fresh fruit, so I know I'll need to lose weight when I finally get home. I'm going to talk to the dietitian and see if we can come to some kind of understanding about my diet. I don't want to go home morbidly obese and need to lose 30 pounds again.
The nurse came in and is packing everything up, so it looks like I'll be off here again until I get to the nursing home and get settled. New thought, she packed up as much as she could and will be back closer to time to leave to pack up the laptop.
It's been a long road to get this far. I'd like to think I'm at the halfway point in my journey, but I'm probably just past the starting gate on this journey. In six weeks, I'll do it all over again. I'm looking forward to that surgery. As painful as this has been, I know what to expect and it shouldn't be so bad.

I know recovery takes time. I wish you the best of luck on that long road ahead.
So far my day is going well, save for this annoying ear pain from an ear infection I currently have. I can't win them all though, so I'll take what I can get.

@kaylachan I had earaches for the first ten years of my life and then sporadically since, so I know how painful they are.

dang't, i could'a called ya, lol. that'd be the trouble with most hospitals - too many've gone the way 'f fresh anythin' they can get by with. best 'f luck't the nursin' home regardin' meals.

@just4him aw, no worries. 'd a bit 'f 'ssistance 's the ferals hovered nearby...with mr. bo jest a tad too close. all 'tis well, i'd 've been'n deep troubles if'n i'd fallen'n. the hubs'd not missed me fer hours i'm certain.
we'll plan'n 'morrow :)

I’m glad to hear you are doing better and better with each passing day. It’s too bad they couldn’t do both knees at the same time so you could get it over with. But like I said before, you are a super woman so I know you got this!

Your photo reminds me of my childhood days which we were playing in a place like in your photo. We climbed it, shout on top of voice like Tarzan and jumped.

I'm settled. I also have my thankful post written. I'm glad you like the picture. That's from the trail I walk in the morning and will again when spring comes.

That would be great. They needed to weigh me when I got here. The weight wasn't true because I needed both feet off the floor and one was resting on the wastebasket. I have a feeling I lost weight the last four days.

Valerie, I am glad to hear it all went well with the surgery. I know you want to lose more weight, and you'll eventually do, but I do wish you can fully rest so you can be fully recovered. Later on you can workout and get back to your active life! We all want you super recovered and strong. God bless you dear!

@just4him working from the therapist will be enough for now. I just hope the next surgery is near so you get it over with soon.
