Calming a Jack Russell

I have a Dachsund and Jack Russell. What tactics have you used to calm your Jack? Have you tried obiediance training? Ours is very hyper and we can't get her to listen unless she is on a leash.

You said it all, she is a Jack Russell, they are just naturally hyper dogs anyway. My mother has one that is 12 years old and she is still insanely hyper. They are pretty cool dogs, very smart. You have to find a way that she will listen to you, weather it be on the lead as you said or treats or something else.

These Jack Russel terrorists ar so wound up from morning to evening , they are not mine but a guys whom we live Rod,,, they are called yo yo and Scooter, the time when they are some what calm is when Rod is home in the evening. then just for the heck of it I stand up and say OUT!they go bonkers, I can hardly make it to the back door they twerl around at my feet, I cant walk. I would like to know of a way of calming these guys down ill be back to check out other discussions.

Sorry we don't have dogs, we have a cat. So, I can't help you there.
