We Have Free Heat

Thanks to my younger son’s business savvy, he found a struggling family owned oil company. He talked them in to expanding their business two years ago and moving into other towns in the area, including our town. He suggested investing in more trucks and hiring more drivers and staff. He also suggested they advertise with his company. As a result, they have seen tremendous growth and were so appreciative, offered him, our best friend, and us, his parents, free heating oil and servicing. We have gotten them business in our neighborhood and town by word of mouth and from people seeing their trucks in our driveway. We are thrilled to death!

That is great! We have gas heating, most of us have switched to gas heating because it is cleaner, so we do not have to pay the high pollution tax.

@DianneN We have city gas here, I would not feel safe installing propane tanks.

@LadyDuck We have a large propane tank for our gas fireplace, range top, and it's hooked up to our grill. Very safe.

Thanks. It will save us thousands of dollars a year. Living here, we can't get gas heating unless we put huge propane tanks in the ground. My son is trying to get this oil company to invest in propane, too.

@DianneN Yeah, we don't have oil. Unfortunately, I live in a place that uses electric heat and it sucks.

Hey, tell your son to get them into the cooling business as well, then in summer they could make a killing in the southwest.

Sometimes a small business owner just wants to stay small because finding reliable help these days isn't always that easy @DianneN

They are thrilled to have a booming business now. Good help is hard to get, so our son is helping them with that, too. Many don't mind delivering fuel, but due to the virus, don't want to enter homes to do servicng @rebelann. The son is doing that all by himself. It's tough, but people here do need their oil to stay warm.

Too hot for us. We shut if off at night unless it goes below 40. It's certainly going to be a huge savings for us. We use the oil for heat and hot water.
