Literally Chilled to the Bone

I wasn’t here much yesterday. I got caught up in US politics throughout the day and night, but that wasn’t exactly all that kept me away from MyLot. I received an order of fresh food from my online shopping site, Instacart. Of course I sanitized every thing that arrived. Our son asked if he could stop over for a visit. Of course I told him to come. We spent 4 hours talking in our garage with masks on, the heater going, and still freezing. He had a lot to tell us about his vacation in Vermont, his New Year’s Eve, his trip to New York to sell that penthouse he bought, and about his business. I was shivering the entire time. Once he left, I couldn’t stop shivering. Hubs wrapped me in blankets, turned the heat up, put two portable heaters on me, and rubbed my hands and toes. Nothing worked! I decided to take a long, hot shower and had the heater on in the bathroom. I put on long-sleeved pjs and a heavy long robe, which did the trick, finally!!! While watching the US news again, I got too hot.

The only thing that works for me is a hot bath, I stay in the hot water until I feel that I am warm enough.

@DianneN What a terrible situation, that jerk should have been removed weeks ago.

I thought of it, but didn't want to take the time. I needed to get back to the TV.

@DianneN you sound as bad as my wife. She takes her hot water bottle everywhere we go and always uses it. Even to Greece at the height of summer.

I'm not that bad! I traveled throughout Greece without even wearing a long-sleeved blouse.

@xFiacre I usually don't ever get this cold. I think nerves played a part, too. I was dressed soooo warmly, too.

It was chilly yesterday. I cut my walk short because I was pretty cold. I was glad to have my mask on for a change yesterday. It kept my face warm.

I walked during the morning and was fine. Of course, the mask helps. When my son stopped by, I wore a tee under a heavy sweater, warm pants, thick socks, my Uggs, a hat, mink coat (yes, I wear them around the yard now), and mittens. They always face the heater towards me, but once I started shivering, nothing helped. It was scary!

A hot shower usually does it for me too when nothing else works to warm up. The news was horrible yesterday. Your picture is awesome!

I should have done the shower sooner, but I was too cold to get off the couch. Yes, the news was horrible. Watching John Bolton on TV now discussing it. Wow! Thank you!

@DianneN I looked at the news a little while ago talking about the aftermath. I couldn't watch it. Too depressing. You're welcome.

We do now that it's winter. When it was warm, we used to self distance on our deck, elsewhere in our yard, or go for walks. Hubs sets up chairs, a little table, and a heater or two. It beats being in the elements. 4 hours of sitting in the cold proved too much for me, but my husband and son don't ming the cold.

You really got chilled. I was expecting to open this and see that recent events had you chilled to the bone Our garage is very warm. It is our Kitty's bedroom. (He has a door so he can go outside when he wants) At night we turn our furnace in the house way down. If I go out to the garage, it is warmer than the house.

The events and its aftermath have me chilled to the bone even as we speak. We should meet inside your garage from now on. We leave the garage door open when our son comes over to visit due to the virus. Sitting for so long wasn’t a good idea.
