How Would You Like to Receive 20 Free Deep Dish Pizzas?

Due to an order mix up, that is what happened to our older son. 10 deep dish pizzas from Chicago’s fabulous Lou Malnati’s were ordered by me: 4 for our son and 6 for us to share with our younger son. After hearing about that, I called customer service. They apologized profusely and said that they would reship the order. It was their fault. So my granddaughter FaceTimed me to show me that another 10 pizzas arrived. My son and daughter-in-law complained about the calories in each pizza, but loved what they had eaten. They did give most of them away, because they only have their refrigerator freezer. So, I called customer service a second time. They once again apologized profusely. Today I received my order. Hubs delivered two to our younger son’s freezer. Everything was shipped in a styrofoam container packed in dry ice and inserted in a sturdy shipping box. Guess what we are having for dinner, finally?

Good guess. I was planning on them just before the pizza arrived. I shoved them back into the freezer before I even opened the box!

@DianneN We had Spaghetti Bolognese. I would rather have had a Pizza. Or Burger.

So, do they ship to SW TX? Never mind, it would be too expensive to buy them anyway

I'm thinking that due to the heat index here they would most likely need to super insulate the box to keep it almost fresh @DianneN Just looked them up, $66 for 2 pizzas is a bit much in my book.

@rebelann Sorry about that. My son asked me how much they cost, but I couldn’t remember. It is a little crazy.

Deep crust with more filling. Similar to a Sicilian pizza. You can see by the photo.

That's a lot of pizzas! I'd love it but wouldn't be able to keep all that . . . our 2 freezers are packed. A pizza party would be great fun, but these days, well, you know.

@DianneN That's a great idea if you have snow . . . of course we could never take advantage of that. But I guess we could heat them all up at the same time outside in summer .

Yes, I know. Our son was able to store some of the first delivery in the snow, because it was bitter cold. Not so with the next delivery.

@DianneN lol You are making Kasey very happy, she will be ordering those. Usually, she and a girlfriend meet in Chicago in the fall for a girl's weekend but in 2020 that wasn't possible. Her friend lives outside Atlanta and it takes both of them about the same amount of time to fly to Chicago lol

@BelleStarr My husband had been there many times for conferences, conventions, and for a trip with the boys. This was my one and only visit and I loved the food and the shopping. I’ve been to the airport a few times. Hopefully, Kasey and her friend can return once it’s safe to travel again.

Free Chicago pizza is wonderful! Ours tasted as good as we remembered. Waiting to hear back from our younger son to see what he thought of his. He's the one who turned us on to Lou Malnati's. If he likes it, I will order him more. We are already planning to put in an order to stock up. It's very fattening, but worth it.

So you didn't get your pizza was it last night or the night before? I wonder whether they fired there person who mistakenly sent to many to your one son? That's a lot of money down the drain for them. At least they finally got it right and you got your pizza. Oh and I'm having my final cup of coffee with you before I begin cleaning my kitchen.

I've never had a deep-dish pizza; but I know I would love it. We don't have room in our freezer for anything else! My husband, the food hoarder, has filled up every space. Enjoy all of your pizzas! I'm lost though. What was wrong with the first order?

@kobesbuddy We usually get ours on Sunday for some reason. Have been doing it since the kids lived here. Fridays and Saturday nights have always been more swankier. Our dream is to get into Rao's in NYC for pizza. The only one I know who has been there in my DIL's father.
