Scared, Silly, or maybe Scared Silly?

Maybe I watched news on the wrong day. Maybe I read online about how there are a lot of Republicans headed for DC to kill Dems, and to kill them on the way, too. Some of these rants and raves seem beyond ridiculous. But then again, these people are not only violent, they are completely and totally crazy. Completely brainwashed, it's like they are under a spell and it's going to snap soon. I know a lot of people are simply terrified. People who voted blue are taking time to scrub their facebooks, twitter, snapchat, etc. They don't even want to be identified in any way, because they think someone will shoot them. Is this all hype? Is this just Q Anon raging rampant on all of us? How does a person hide from who they are and just disappear? I mean...not everyone has an underground bunker or can go to the basement of the White House. Has anyone else heard these rumors? That supposedly all 50 state capital buildings could be attacked over this weekend? And possibly any town with a courthouse may be attacked as well? How can any country have enough people to defend all of these places, as well as their citizens? A friend is a nurse in an emergency room not far from me. She said a man came in and asked to be admitted to a room. He wasn't ill. But something he read led him to believe the rioters will not attack hospitals, so he wanted to stay there. He said to her, I have money, I will pay whatever you ask. How in the world did we ever get to this point? How was Trump able to rile everyone up so bad with his hype that there was a riot at our nation's capital? How is it that rioters killed some people, they urinated and defecated all through the hallways and on the steps. I guess what I am wondering is, do we all need to be scared? Will it do any good? Probably not. If someone wants to be mean and evil, they will find a way to do that. But when a friend asked me, I couldn't get the words out because I didn't think that was what he wanted to hear. I've lived a lot of years. Never have I been less proud to be an American. I don't know the answers, I just know the rumors are wild. I turn off the tv and someone has to call with another rumor. I put the phone in the other room for a long time today, so I didn't have to hear any more. I guess I am just... Kind of scared.

It's true, I suppose. But I'm not worried about it. (People in-charge ARE worried about it and are taking care of it so we don't have to worry.)

@MarieCoyle Putin won't even want him now, he's no longer any good for him since he's not in power anymore. Maybe he'll invite him anyway and give him a shot of that poison...

I wish he would go away. But I don't think any other country wants him, either.

I'm kinda scared too. During the terror attack at the Capitol several of the Democratic lawmakers were serious afraid for their lives and I don't blame them. They were also after Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell, anyone they felt had crossed Trump in any way or anyone Trump had complained about I should say. They say they're going to every state capitol this weekend. What's especially scary and infuriating is the attack on the Capitol may have been an inside job with some of the Capitol Police as well as some some Republican lawmakers in on the planning. If the FBI and other law enforcement organizations do their jobs some BIG heads are going to roll. The problem is, who can we trust now?

@MarieCoyle Well, we made it and he's GONE!. Of course that doesn't mean there won't be more trouble from his supporters.

I know what you are saying about trust. The news did say that some house members are worried that their Republican cohorts might kill them or arrange for them to die somehow. The more that comes out of that riot, the more I realize that many of the rioters have roots or friends in the house and senate. So sad.

I fear he will return, meaner and nastier than ever. Hopefully not.

Funny how fast they are to accuse Trump (and Giuliani and maybe another speaker or two) of "Incitement" when his opponents have been 'inciting' for a while now!

Get Real for sure...Trump and some of his sycophants have been inciting violence for years. Didn't you hear that some of the Capitol terrorists even said they were there because it was what Trump wanted them to do or told them to do? Why didn't the FBI speak up sooner? BECAUSE THEY WERE STILL AT TRUMP'S MERCY!

@anniepa I wouldn't phrase it as "at T***'s mercy" (That's what CBS does whenever Colbert displays quotes with that guy's name in it), but rather 'under his authority.' That is; it doesn't matter WHO is in power, the officers aren't "keeping vigil over the city like Batman at the top of the skyscraper" to "swoop in at the first sign of a raucous"---they're not moving in unless 'ordered' to move in. (And that's not "if some famous guy yells at a crowd that they oughta do that," but if they are officially given the orders.)
