Not really sure when I am going to be able to get a vaccine shot, so I firgured this might be a good investment with that UK variant around that is supposed to be more contagious. They said doubling up cloth masks would probably be adequate, but the medical masks are the best. This is a 5 pack so I will give a couple away. I like my cute little cloth mask, but safety first.. Will you get an N 95 mask?

The UK variant is here also but no one is saying anything about whether to wear more protective masks. I wear good ones that you can wash a certain amount of times but we donĀ“t know if its enough apart from avoiding crowded places and the social distance and all that.

It would probably be a good idea.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I am not sure how long I have been wearing a mask, several months I know. This stupid, destructive pandemic seems endless. I pray for better times.

I'm not sure. I've been thinking about getting a face shield as well, but then I guess I wonder how silly I'll look and how effective it might be?

Of the two, I would rather go with the mask..

@snowy22315 Right, that's what I was thinking. I've seen people with just the face shield and no mask and I'm like "Okay, but that doesn't really cover anything."

I don't blame you, I will be vaccinated next Thursday one of thr people I was upset finally called and gave me the number. I called everyone or text them to let them know. Everytime I would call, the receptionist would say we are out of vaccine. It was frustrating. I called and got an appointment right away.

I am still using the cloth mask to work. Of course with filter in it. But when shopping outside, I'm using medical mask. I don't think I'll get N95 anytime soon.

@snowy22315 I hope you can get it then. How much does it cost there? I remember the mask seems to be a bit pricey from the rest.

I tend to wear a medical mask with a cute little 3-ply cloth mask over it. I think that it is safe.

Yes, if you are doubling up, that should be good. They just seemed to really advocate the medical mask though.

@snowy22315 Here they recommend a medical mask and also a 3-ply cloth mask, I like to double up because those new strains are so easily transmitted.

@Juliaacv That is what they are saying. Hopefully, no one passes out due to the lack of O2, or excess carbon dioxide.

I rarely use a mask, because I am mostly at home, and when I use it, then I use an ordinary mask.

They are not very attractive masks, but as long as they do what they are supposed to do, that is the important thing.

No I will be getting the vaccine within the month so I will continue to use m 4 layer cloth mask. It has three cotton layers and a filter.

@BelleStarr I never heard that. As long as it is thick..that is they important thing, and of couse they have to fit well too.

@snowy22315 The ones have are really nice and they fit so well, I am very happy with them. The trouble with the N95 was that there was a lot of fake ones out there, Hopefully, that is not happening now.

I have bought 3 boxes of medical masks, with the new variants of the vaccine I feel safer to throw it and change every time that we come back home.

@snowy22315 I know that the new UK variant is here, not yet the Brazilian and the L.A. variants... it's only a matter of time.

I've been using blue surgical masks. My second mom made me a cloth one but the cat stole it. I have no idea what he did with it.

@snowy22315 I have not heard of the N 95 mask. I guess it depends on how much it costs and if we have them here.
