It’s Time for Filipino Food

Yes, I miss Filipino food. I think I have not eaten rice for a week now and I am craving for it. I have bought tuna cutlets yesterday and so I will make them for dinner tonight.
I am planning to cook Tuna Escabeche, a sweet and sour Filipino recipe. I will eat this with boiled rice and veggie salad.
As I don’t have the photo yet, I will just add the photo of my German food that I cooked last Monday. It was boiled potatoes, Kasslerbraten( German gammon) with brown gravy and Sauerkraut. It was delicious. I have eaten the leftover of this food on Tuesday. The rest of the week were pasta and bread.
The weather here is sunny at 8C, colder than the other days this week.

Enjoy your dinner! Maybe you could set a day each week to have your favorite Filipino foods and the rest of the day be dedicated to German cuisine or other cuisines you like over the years.

Thank you @ScribbledAdNauseum. I don’t make a plan of what I cook the next day. I cook from what I have in the fridge, pantry and freezer. It also depends on what I like to eat on that day. I cook German, Filipino, Italian and other Asian food but no schedule on what day.

@thelme55 Oh I see. I like having a schedule / general idea of what I want to cook, but I think this is because my grandmother and mother did the same thing.

I love rice meals too and miss it when I don't eat it. The meal looks yummy (I had to look up gammon - oh ham!). Here we may be in the 70F's later, but it's a bit chilly this morning. I will be doing a lot of cooking today too . .. enjoy your meal(s)!

Kassler with potatoes and Sauerkraut is so German! But I'm not content with the translation 'gammon'. The dictionary says that 'gammon' is 'geräucherter Schinken'. Yet, Kassler is not Schinken. The two things are close relatives, but not identical. The net is full of definitions. But never mind, meat eaters like both.

I’ve never had Filipino food before. I will have to try it sometime Tuna Escabeche is there anything else you would recommend.
