New Diet

Well, I will be starting a new 900 calorie diet once I get my food stamps. I am using a website called "EatThisMuch" to create healthy meal plans and such. I've already written out a grocery list. I am really excited. I am thinking I might not get the weight loss surgery. If I just eat right and get in some exercise I think I can do it on my own. I just have to buckle down and not over eat. Speaking of exercise, I went on a nice 30 minute walk yesterday. It hurt a lot in my legs and lower back, but I felt better after I relaxed a bit and the pain went away. That is the longest I have walked in a very long time. Wish me luck on my new lifestyle change. It's going to be hard, but it's something that needs to be done.

You should have somebody else doing it so that comparison motivates both of you. But this is certainly better than surgery. You never know what the surgeon is picking or leaving inside.

@vandana7 Yep! He will be eating more than 900 calories though because he is taller than me and needs more. I'm only 4'6"

Good Luck! I would like to suggest that you start by cutting carbs as well as calories. It might not hurt to try eating four small meals a day instead of three bigger ones. Add more protein and good fats and less trans fat as well.

The meal plans from the website have it broken down into 4 meals a day and not many bad carbs. I also have it set for at least 50g of protein.

@AngelisaQT That's great! I wish you a lot of luck. Try to do some exercising too, even if it's just stretching. That will help. I think we've discussed the 16:8 fast before, haven't we?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I believe so, but I don't think I will be doing any fasting. It's really hard!

Best of luck with your diet. 900 calories sounds really low, I don't think I could do that!

@AngelisaQT Oh wow, finally someone who is shorter than I am! I am 4'9-4'10 - somewhere in that area lol. But I guess that makes sense. Maybe I should stick to 1200 calories lol But as long as you are not hungry and it works for you is what matters!

I don't know how I've not gotten diabetes or something yet. My goal is to get between 100 - 120 pounds.

Exercise can usually make you quite tired especially if you haven't done that much exercise in a while. Adjusting to new diets can help a lot in weight loss.

Im glad you are doing a healthy diet and having time to exercise. You are doing it right. Knee bent sit up is also an effective exercise for our tummy. Base on my own experience, You will notice the great effect in just a week, of at least sixty sit ups a day.
