A fond memory from maybe three years ago.

I actually enjoyed playing with this band. We did Western Swing and other stuff. I finally quit a couple of years ago, as Debbie the band's leader was scheduling gigs months ahead (I can't think that far ahead), giving us really short breaks, interrupting conversations I was having with audience members, etc. I felt "controlled by a control freak."
But we had some fun over a couple of years. I got to play mostly bass and sing harmony vocals, both of which I enjoy. Actually, many of you have seen my Pancho and Lefty (whether you wanted to or not). I actually started that song in this band, sharing the lead vocals with Debbie's husband, Doug. I'll attach a song we recorded that I posted to Youtube. I'm on lead vocals and bass. It's an old Bob Wills nonsense song.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

There are happy memories to cling on to and one can spend hours over them.

@TheHorse Cool. I hope to one day be rich enough to give away cars.

@xander6464 I believe that one of your pastry chefs used to work for me. I found her crusts not to be "flaky" enough and had to let her go. Perhaps you could save money if you did the same and hired someone younger and less expensive. But it's not really my place to judge.

I'm glad you had some enjoyable moments with them. I remember you posting about how the band leader didn't like it when you would chat with the audience.

@spiderdust Exactly. I see playing new stuff, and experimenting, as "growth." And also having fun with friends.

@TheHorse It's kind of like jazz in that way... play how the spirit moves you!

@TheHorse I've noticed that jam culture is a lot more open to freeform evolving performances rather than strictly laid out sets.
