So This Happened....

I was driving home tonight, and there was a police officer following me....so I turned down a street I don't normally go down to get home...but he continued to follow. I turned again....and then his lights went off. I was being pulled over.
Did I do anything wrong? Nope...was not speeding. Not driving crazy...etc.
He had noticed that one of my break lights were not red like they should be.
I am guessing the light bulb just went out. I am hoping that is all at least. Supposed to be easy to fix, but if that is not the issue then I can't.
The mechanic in our family has always been my Grandpa but he is not able to help anymore. So guess I'll try myself, or see if Autozone can help.

@kareng sorry to hear that! I was also panicking trying to find the things he asked for (liscense, etc) and couldn't' find the insurance papers...oops. Least I didn't get a ticket for that

@MommyOfEli2013 Not sure if they will do it or not. My youngest sister works at Autozone and I have never heard of it but they might where you are. I know they help with batteries and things so they might. Not sure.
Our Autozone hasn't helped us with things like that. Yours may though.
We have to keep our insurance card in the vehicle along with the registration. Our insurance company sends us new insurance cards once every 6 months.

@MommyOfEli2013 Yeah. She works there. Hopefully they can help you all. If not, hopefully the videos can show you how. We use Youtube a lot to do things ourselves to save money.
Yeah. Our insurance company send us two cards for each vehicle. One for the car and one to keep in the house. I put the extra one in the file cabinet.
Hope you find your old one or get the new one soon.

I was mostly panicking because I couldn't find my insurance papers. No clue where they are. I thought they usually just asked for liscense and registration anyways. But yeah, got the part ordered...hoping Autozone can replace it too.

Well me too, I try not to break the rules on the road lol. I have been pulled over 3 other times. Only 1 for speeding though. Autozone has been good to us so far, put in a new battery for us back in 2020. Got the tail-light ordered. Don't think we have advance auto. We have napa auto

They said they might be able to do it...as long as they don't have to take a bunch of it apart. The way it is damaged I think they should be able to do it. We got the part ordered, and should be here by Wednesday. Not too bad, was $100.

@just4him Well the tail light replacement is $100 yes. Should have ordered it on Amazon though for a lot cheaper. Not sure Autozone will be able to replace it for us anyways. They said maybe they can...just depends. Glad it was only a few dollars for you

He just gave me a warning. We should have it fixed by Wednesday....if they pull us over again...I'll show the receipt lol. I don't think it is the bulb, I think it is the tail light because it is busted.

I am glad too, but if it happens again I might. We are replacing the tail light as soon as the part comes in...but I think we also need to order the bulbs as well. Yes, it is nerve wracking for sure!
