This story is all about Fred
who seemed to have died in his bed,
but woke up at the wake
cried "there's been a mistake",
they'd had a fine party instead.
But blood from his wife's cheeks had fled,
in some consternation she said
"I've got rid of your car
dismantled your bar
and the lodger's moved into our bed.
And sorry, but I have to say
I've given your golf clubs away,
plus your balls and your cue
I'm afraid they're gone too,
I sold all of those yesterday."
"My car and my clubs and my cue!!
my golf balls as well? - they were new!
now you've had the gall
to get rid of them all
that lodger is welcome to you."
She agreed that she'd gone too far
so bought him a shiny new car,
and as for the lodger
he's not a bad codger
and now they're a 'menage a trois'.
Menage a trois (pronounced trwah so rhymes with car) is where one of a couple's lover lives with them).
This is a follow on from my last post The Wake .

Want to get on soon with life, the wife. It does happen!
And one was about to die and told his wife.
"It is time for me to go. You are still young, Get remarried soon and you can as well retain my clothes for him and most have never been worn anyway".
His wife was quick to reply. " He is double your size. Your clothes are too small for him"
