Stuborn cat

I admit I'm a cat person. I have had two beautiful cats, living with me as indoor cats, which means that we're really close. As much as one can be close to a cat :). Sadly I lost them both and I swore to myself to never live with an animal again. Losing them was just too painful for me. But recently I have a visitor. For about two months a beautiful cat is rounding my house, sometimes he even enters and when he sees me, runs away. I started to feed him and he comes around two or three times a day, but never too close. He doesn't touch the food if I'm too close. So my friends, tell me is this cat just using me for food? :)

Very well could be. He might be a feral cat. A cat who hasn't been socialized to humans.

Munster Cheese who is the cat was adopted at a very young age which may explains her bad moods.

@Loti24 The cat must have baggage so he does not want to get to close to you. Give him time and he will bond with you if that is what you want. I understand how you feel about losing your two cats. It is very very hard to lose our furry ones. It looks like you still have lots of love for another one and this cat will come around and see that too.

Thank you for your kind words. You know, I've been thinking the same about baggage. Who knows, maybe he was abused. Maybe we'll heal together.

Will you be able to take him inside or no? He is wild but they are so beautiful. He may be wanting food, but most of all he wants your heart

Tiara, have you seen my question at the end? :) I sound like scorned women: "Is he using me only for ..." :)

Maybe he is but he has probably learnt to be very careful around humans. If you continue to feed him and are kind to him, then maybe he'll become your next cat. While it's sad to lose a pet, I think the pleasure they give you over the years makes up for the pain of losing them.

Maybe the cat is not used to socialized with people. Or there was a traumatic experience that happened to the cats with people.

Most whiskers are good at making the masters give in to give cat food.

I'm sure that if you're patient, the stubborn cat will let you stroke it one day. I have two cats. They come to me on their own and 'want' to be stroked!
