You like it when your canine friend greets you with loud barks, high jumps, a wagging tail and its tongue all over your face? If so, you shouldn't ever consider getting a cat as a pet ! --- Photo: pinterest

Wow! I didn't know cats were like that. I know that cats always find a way back to their owners if they get lost. Or at least that is what I remember hearing.

There are also stories about dogs finding their way back home. I'm sure that not all dogs can do it, but some breeds can.
They thought they'd never see each other again, but these lost dogs found their way home. And their owners couldn't be happier.Welcome home, old friend.Video...

@MALUSE I have not known cats that well. Dogs can be really affectionate.

When I come into the house from being outside for maybe fifteen minutes, Sonny James big kitty drops onto the floor and shows off his big belly. Most nights he camps against me for the night. Maybe I'm just closer to my cats than some others.

I think even people differ in the way they express their love and affections.

I have two cats. They also come to me to be stroked and have their bellies rubbed but they don't make such a hullabaloo as dogs would make.

My cats greet me in their own ways. I climbed into bed, and I had an instant lap cat this morning who was purring, rubbing and licking little patches of skin. Tail in the air. I love when they purr.

While I do not discriminate between the two, I do feel dogs are more intelligent. They can save you from fires and thefts. Cats cannot.

The cat is pretty happy to see him. In the third picture it's rubbing along his leg to mark him with its scent, which is basically the cat way of saying "this dude belongs to me." Does it always have to be either cats or dogs, though? Surely one can appreciate the behaviors of both species for their own merits and find companionship in both.

Cats expect you to treat them as King/Queen whereas dogs treat you like king/Queen.

Perfect differentiation. But this is confusing..
Being away from the Lions?? for more than 2 Months made me realize a lot!?? We humans tend to get used to things & situations very quickly and then take them...

@MALUSE If you want a friend get a dog. A cat will be your friend if they want to.

This hits the nail on its head as the Germans say - meaning that this observation is spot on.

You haven't met my cat! Milo is the most enthusiastic creature I've ever met and throws himself at me every time he sees me.

"I think the monkey is lousing me!" is the idiomatic expressions which Germans utter when they're very surprised. Seeing you here after a hiatus of two years deserves this exclamation. Where have you been? Have you been active on other sites? Why have you come back to myLot? Do you feel nostalgia for superficial chitchat? :-)

I guess cats don't show emotion as much as dogs do . I've never had cats - only dogs .

Some cats turn into dogs if you have food, then they return to their feline form.

The cat of my neighbors come to me as I step in the garden. The dog of a friend of my niece did like the cat in the photo. Animals are like humans, some are sociable, others are not.

That picture gave me a good laugh I don't have a cat, but my parents' British Shorthair greets them by lying down on his back every time.

Nothing can replace how a dog acts when it hasn't seen you in the past hour or days...Its whole back end wags and it barks and gives you kisses!

I think both are equally nice. Cat is expressing her anger...why did you leave me and go, and why are you back? A dog has no such ego.
