So Sick, Blah!

@MarieCoyle Happy for you. What triggered this hell of an infection, any idea?

I honestly have no idea. No one around me has been sick. Where I live, most businesses still require masks and I wear one. I have been fully vaccinated for months. They checked me twice for Covid this week, both negative. About 2 years ago, I had ear repair surgery as I had a hole in the eardrum that would not heal. I hope I never get this again, the pain was worse than having a baby without any meds. I was so miserable. I am still weak and tired, it still hurts some but not nearly like it did, thankful for that.

FINALLY, I see improvement. I've never had an ear infection kick me in the a@@ like this one did. I scared my family. I even scared myself. Thursday was so terrible, in such pain. Doctor said, you need to go to the hospital, I'm admitting you. I said no, give me one more day...and the one more day worked. I had a terrible night Thursday. In agony, couldn't sleep, in a lot of pain. I decided I would go to the hospital the next day. I finally fell asleep about 8 AM Friday AM, and when I woke up at noon I actually felt less pain. Took my meds, went back to Dr again(3rd time in 4 days) and he saw an improvement. He made me stay for IV fluids and an IV antibiotic. Hey, it beat the hospital! I hope this is it, and that I am really on the mend. Yay, me!

@rakski Yes, in my first paragraph, I had explained I went to the Dr. Got meds. If they do not start working tomorrow, I am going to go back.

Thank you, if I am not better tomorrow I am going to have to go to convenient care. The fever keeps going up.

@MarieCoyle I remember my tonsils being very swollen - nearly touching each other at times . Hoping all the ear pain goes away soon.

My tonsils were never that bad as a child. They are making up for that now. Hopefully meds will kick in, it's been 22 hours since the first dose. Thank you.

@MarieCoyle Sorry to hear about your blown eardrum. I hope you can get some relief soon from the pain.

The eardrum blew earlier. The doc is going to pack it tomorrow morning. You are right it feel like a gunshot! Miserable.

The ice bag really helps the pain. It gives me the shivers but it's worth it.

No wonder babies scream so hard when they get an earache. I can't even swallow hardly without tears in my eyes. Thank you!

Finally, time and antibiotics and Iv's and rest, I am doing a lot better. It sure did kick me in the tail, hard! Thank you.

We all get sick sometime but I really don't want to be this week. Lots to do, and no health or energy right now.

Yes, I am staying warm. Taking the prescribed meds. Pills hard to swallow but I am getting them down. I can't talk at all--no noise comes out. Thank you.

I have a rather high fever, and I honestly don't feel like doing much right now.
