Hi! Do you know Vitamin B12 is not produced by your body?? And this vitamin b12 is essential for your nervous system, circulation of blood and what not! I got diagnosed with it's deficiency!! I got inflammed tongue, my skin got black layer on legs, my memory started decaying, I fumbled when I spoke!! I lost my sense of taste!! My pains and needles sensation on feet spreaded.. And also my hands felt numbed.. And adding salt to the wound is that you derive Vitamin B12 from eggs, fish and mean and it is stored in your body from 2 to 4 months!! I am a vegeterian and I am beginning to think how to eat egg!! I will only eat omlette and I have asked my cousin to help me with it!! I just cannot but my health demands it!! My doctor asked me include eggs atleast in my diet.. I don't wanna take injections every month..

Take corn. It's rich in Vitamin B12. You can have makki roti a few meal. Also millete meal is a good source. Sorry to know about your condition. Do some exercise so that things are better absorbed and assimilated. Yoga helps a lot. Take care.

My body doesn't digest corn properly!! I used to have sprouts!! Regarding exercise, I feel terrible pain in my feet when I do some kind of vigorous physical activity!! I have tried doing yoga and will continue it!!! Thank you!!

@anya12adwi Oh! I see. You can take supplements under medical supervision. And yoga will definitely help. If you are regular with it, you will slowly notice the improvement. Take care

Sorry for the diagnosis. No one wants to be in such a condition. Health is wealth. Food is nourishment for the body. An egg could be stirred in your vegetable soup. I take B Vitamins every day. Perhaps you could ask for a prescription.

@anya12adwi You are not alone. Most of us had been preoccupied with our work and the welfare of our families that we somehow neglected our own being. Good there are meds and care and self-healing that can appease our conditions.

It is not produced by our body, but the human body can store vitamin B-12 for up to four years. If you cannot get Vitamin B12 from animal-based food, you must ask your doctor to prescribe supplements.

@anya12adwi Your doctor is right, I have always been unable to digest B12 supplements. I also had injections when I was a kid.

@anya12adwi it takes awhile before it will be totally healed. Seems you were so deficient in b12. Just make sure you'll eat egg always. The supplements were enough for me. But it took like 3 months before I noticed the good effects

yes your memory wil further decline if you don't get b12 immediately. It does affect a lot. I used to be deficient in b12 because the medicine I take affects b12 absorption in my body. So those food I eat with b12 like meat are not well absorbed by my body. So I am taking b12 supplements. B12 methycobalamin. Better take this vitamin now not just depend on food.

@hotsummer Somedays I eat curd rice to make sure I get my daily dose of vitamin b12!
• India

I eat curd too!! I read it has b12.. Very soon, I will include eggs too!! Can't just take supplements forever! Try taking 1 scoop of curd every day and also include dairy products like cottage cheese!! Here, we get adulterated diary products! So, that's the reason I am willing to include eggs!

My son is a vegetarian slash vegan. He takes vitamin B-12. He doesn’t need injections like my friend does. He eats cheese and only uses eggs in recipes. That’s why he’s not a true vegan. Good luck!

What about taking the B12 supplement? Being a vegetarian has a lot of drawbacks.

Yes B12 vitamins is important for those vegetarians. Though i have read that you can have b12 when you eat the vegetables without washing it. but it is not safe because soil where vegetables are grown have b12.

@hotsummer Yep that's risky, soil has bacteria, fungi and what not!! Washing vegetables and fruits unavoidable!
