Please tell me I'm not the only one being emotional....

I'm just watching the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics. I love the Olympics so much. I find it fun, entertaining, exciting, nail biting and so much more. I remember the last Olympics's opening. It was amazing. But for obvious reasons, this time, the opening and the whole experience will be very different from other times. So far, the opening is making me quite emotional. Yet, I'm happy and proud this was all put together by these amazing entertainers and then of course, all the amazing athletes making their countries proud. Whether you're watching now, watching it later or watching specific parts throughout, I hope you enjoy and be safe. .... ok I'm going to go continue watching this in a overly emotional girly way now.

@sol_cee Some of the performances were related to Covid and what the world has / is going through so for me, it was a bit emotional. But still wonderful to watch.

BFF asked who the athletes were waving to as there shouldn't be any audience inside. Probably to us that's watching from home.

@prinzcy I thought the same thing. I wondered at first then I realised it was to us watching at home. But they were probably also waving to the athletes who were already there and coaches etc. It was nice to see everyone waving and smiling.

I always get emotional when I watch the Olympics. But in a proud way. Like being proud and happy for all the athletes who have worked so hard to get to the ultimate sports level.

@VivaLaDani13 I hope those athletes that don't do well at the Olympics remember that, no matter what (or how they finished in the Olympics), that they are still in the top 1% of athletes in the entire world. They are literally superior/better than 8 billion other people.

@moffittjc That is understandable for sure! I feel the same as you, feeling proud for all the athletes no matter what country or events they are in. It's lovely to see how proud they are. I feel bad for those who feel disappointed during the event/s if they did a mistake / didn't do as good as they feel they should have etc.

Okay, I teared up when our athletes came through and again during the opening ceremony. I noticed all the countries have a good showing of athletes. It should be a good Olympics.

I have never watched any Opening Ceremonies of any games. I remember whene Commonwealth Games were first held in Delhi, India, I didn't watch it either. I think Queen or was it Pince of Wales, have arrived here for that. Can't remember properly. Anywhos, have fun. Post Covid, I think people have lot more appreciation for little things that took for granted such as going for movies. I guess, it can be quiet emotional for some.

@Daljinder That is fair enough. No use watching anything if it's not an interest. The Olympics is the main sporting event I actually get excited for. I enjoyed what I saw. I hate how it's all scattered though.

@VivaLaDani13 I used to watch World Cup (Cricket) as a child but not since then. I definitely do not watch or let anyone watch when India is playing coz I think it jinx their game and they lose. This time my husband didn't listen to me and watched India play and guess what? They are out of the race haha!! I totally blamed him for the loss.
