August (another month rolls around)

Happy Monday Everyone! it's a beautiful sunny day here today. The skies are blue and the temperature is still in the 60s F from overnight. Looks like a beautiful day ahead.
July (weather-wise) was miserable. Hot, humid and lots of rain. Saturday was beautiful as July said good-bye.
August brought it's first day with lots of rain and it was just a gloomy day.
But, here we are day two of August and it's bright and beautiful.
Since yesterday was so miserable I found myself being quite lazy. Didn't have much ambition to do anything so I spent the day reading (and yes I finally finished my book), watching tv, snacking and napping.
Today is back to the daily routine....house stuff to do, laundry is in the wash and I have to take the chicken out of the freezer to defrost for dinner.
We're having chicken surprise for dinner!! the surprise is how I decide to cook it 
Other than that, nothing much is happening here.
It's coffee time and I'm going to chat here for awhile before forcing myself to get the things done that need doing.

I was pleased to not only fall asleep but to wake up to temps in the upper 60's. I am ready for fall.
I hope you enjoy your coffee. I just finished mine and think I will start to make less coffee over time to hopefully help boost my weight loss more.
I love Chicken Surprise and Hamburger Surprise.

Hamburger surprise!! I love anything that involves ground beef. We're having chicken tonight as I overindulged in carbs over the weekend so chicken is a good low calorie choice for tonight.

@Marilynda1225 I switch between Chicken and Ground beef myself. We don't eat much pork here.
I make a delicious bacon cheeseburger casserole but need to broaden my horizons on the hamburger front.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I only have pork occasionally since my daughter isn't fond of it. I like boneless pork chops cooked with sauerkraut

@Marilynda1225 In France you find "La surprise du Chef" (The chef surprise) on some menus, I suppose it's not very different and (may be) according to the leftovers.

Today is just a perfect day weather-wise here.
There isn't a cloud in the sky and the temperature is nice, not hot just nice and warm.
Its a great day to be travelling as so many will be on the roads today coming back from their long weekend excursions. Our son is one such driver. He has an 8 hour drive to get back home again.

@Marilynda1225 It is a really long time to be on the road.
He texted me a little while ago and sent some cool pictures.
When they were driving thru North Bay, there was a film crew shooting a Hallmark movie.
He sent photos of it, and it was quite obvious it was for Hallmark.
A friend that rode with our son works in the television filmworks industry and told him that they must have been filming because they were all talking on their 2-way radios.
They went for a 10 hour hike on Saturday and a 5 hour canoe trip yesterday. He told me that he is stiff and sore but happy as these are his high school friends and they have remained so close thru all of the different phases in their lives.

@Juliaacv sounds like your son and his friends had a good time and it's nice to have friends that you keep through the years. I have one friend since childhood and she's a treasure.

You had a relaxing weekend, me too...lazy sleep in Sunday. Like you in laundry done, some shopping done and left my prescription for my new glasses today at opticians. Nice sunny day for my bus rides today.

It seems to be very pleasant here today as well, unfortunately this will not last. I believe it is going to rain tomorrow..and most of the week, and then the temps are going up again..of course..it is August after all!
