So, I'm still employed but also still looking for a new work. Looking for new work has become easier and harder at the same time during this pandemic. There are a lot of jobs out there but there are only a couple that meets everything in my checklist. LOL! What can I say, I'm a demanding job hunter! Anyway, when I talk about social media platform, I mean mainly Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Of course, I'm hardly ever on FB but when I'm there I either share the business posts of friends/contacts, I post about my digital business, and I apply to jobs posted in FB. Sure, I'll share a personal post or a post about something I like or interested in but it has been mostly about work or business. Incidentally, I created that FB account for my financial advisor role in an insurance company. For Instagram, I mainly just pass resumes while for LinkedIn, I've used it to network with people in the different industries I've been part of. Anyway, I managed to submit a couple of resumes in those three sites and so far I'm 0-3. The good thing about it is the companies came back via email and told me that the qualifications and experience I have do not mtch what they are currently looking for. No problem with that, at least, I'm not left hanging and waiting for a call that won't come. Has anyone else tried applying via social media? How was your experience? Feel free to share in the comments below. ----- Included a photo of mine. Just wanted to change things up a bit.

You must be in competition with a thousand others. I do hope you find the job that suits you well. What about starting up your own business?

I have a couple of side hustles - an online shop, a digital business, and a third one set up with college buddies. So far it is only the third one earning for me. The first two are still works in progress. I'm doing both but so far I've seen zero to minimal returns. Yeah, there is a lot of competition. I know I can easily get a job if I relaxed some of my rules but I will be short-changing myself if I do that. I have a final interview set for tonight so that is where I have my sights on.

@eileenleyva thanks. I want to have options as early as now so I can choose among these. This job pays less and is in the graveyard shift and there is a possibility that they will require people to report onsite. All Xs in my list but I still want to push through and see how I will do in the final interview. I haven't thought about what I will do when I get the job. I just want to pass the final interview first.

At this time I think this is the most practical way to applying for a job or looking for something. You don't need to go out and do a lot of stuff, just be very very careful of the authenticity of the offer and company.

@allen0187 I doubt it. So many places have online applications that it seems silly to me.

Good luck on the job search. Its good that the companies responded, so your not waiting to receive a reply. Several of my friends have applied for online jobs and one now has a part time job not sure which site responded.

Thanks. Still sending out resumes. I would settle for a part-time job as well but a full-time job is better.

I have submitted resumes before via email. My last application was in 2015. So, I have not experienced the pandemic way of job hiring/application. I hope you get a call from the company/ies.

True but it has its limitations and downside as well.

The right opportunity just hasn't presented itself yet but I hope that you find a good job soon that is perfectly aligned with your checklist, and knowing what you want in a position definitely sets you up for long-term success. I have not applied to any positions through social media but a few on Rat Race Rebellion and Indeed. Often it is my list or the qualifications, I want to design my days so that I can continue working on my business launch and aquire clients to serve, so a position as an independent contractor is imperative for me, however, if ultimately I have to work around that I will. I do hope you get great news soon.

Good luck in your job hunting. Hope you'll get the job you will like. I have not apply jobs via social media. Well, I guess social media wasn't quite popular when I was still working. I only applied via an employment site for my previous jobs. Now that I am a stay-at-home mom, I don't apply for jobs...
