Kids, ask your great grandparents who The Amazing Kreskin is (Yes, he's still alive). And then hurry back to find out why you should call me by his name. The answer is simply this: A few days ago, in a comment thread (I can't find it now, so I can't give you a link) I predicted that both coffee and chocolate would soon be lab-grown because Global Warming is hindering the production of both crops. And today, we see this story: Coffee Can Now Be Grown in a Lab. Can It Match the Real Thing? ((LINK BELOW)). The chocolate portion of my prediction will soon come to pass but in the meantime, those of you who drink coffee can breathe easy. ************** FOOD & DRINK | SEPTEMBER 21, 2021 1:07 PM Coffee Can Now Be Grown in a Lab. Can It Match the Real Thing? A biotech caffeine alternative in the face of climate change

I can't remember which discussion that was on, either... I wonder if that tastes like good coffee or if it tastes like freeze dried coffee?

Is there a difference between the good coffee and the freeze-dried? It all tastes like rancid battery acid to me.

@DaddyEvil They also think coffee tastes good, so I question their judgment.

@xander6464 -- no, I'd sneak a peek because my bedtime as a teenager was 10 PM. Nice of you to think I'm not over 60, though.

@FourWalls 60? Do people even live that long? I got lucky. Our NBC station could be picked up on FM radios, so I listened to the show every night. Audio only, of course, which wasn't as good as getting the picture but I do what I can with what I have where I am.

I bet it will be. I think ATOMO coffee which is likely also grown in a lab is quite tasty, and has been around for a while. artificial beef has been around for a while, so coffee no big surprise.

The artificial beef interests me the most and yeah, it has been out for at least ten years but when they first did it, it cost over $7 million an ounce to make and then I saw they got it down to around $150,000 an ounce and now they're saying they are close to getting it to where ordinary people can afford it. How much does the ATOMO coffee cost?

None of my friends are imaginary...unlike the books some people have claimed to have written but I won't even mention them because I am far too polite.

I haven't heard anything yet about tea being affected by Global Warming but I'm if it happens, they'll be able to grow it, too.
