Showing Appreciation

United States

We are all part of a forum. We exchange opinions, daily life and events that are experienced. Some discussions are serious, some are vents or rants, some are fun and light hearted. Many things can be learned here and the opportunity to teach others and share knowledge makes ours, a unique forum. People love the earnings program and interacting with people from every corner of the planet. The community does have problems every so often but it's sorted out quickly by our Administrator. I think it's about time to show appreciation to Alice. It has to be a thankless and tedious task to keep this forum running smoothly. I appreciate all the effort to keep MyLot the best forum I have ever been a member. Do you show your appreciation to people that help you? Do you think GAA has a pat on the back coming? I do. If you feel like showing thanks, please do so.

Yes, I always brag about how things run so smoothly here and how the payments are always right on time.

I like how the site is policed in a way that guides users and violations just disappear. Everything is like clockwork here, including earnings and payments.

I am more than satisfied with the way My Lot's Administration is holding this site together. They do so much work behind the lines and some will never understand how hard this job actually is! To keep things running smoothly 24/7, is a seven days a week responsibility. And the Administration deserves a great big "Thankyou" for handling this so efficiently and with skill. A pat on the back, they certainly do deserve one for all their efforts each day/ month/year. And we receive updates about everything, no matter what it is!

@kobesbuddy I like it when GAA kids around and interacts a bit. It brings the members closer to the Administrator. Alice has a difficult and until now, a thankless job but does an amazing job.

I think as a society we don't do very well at showing gratitude or appreciation.

I would agree. I like to let people know when I'm pleased with their efforts. That's why I thought this discussion was necessary.

@thislittlepennyearns I think that you used 1/2" hardibacker for a backsplash when I use 1/4" so I don't have to move outlets lol. Your way is correct by the book but I do backsplashes differently lol. We must have been raised by people that did it right. It's possible that we're both old souls.

@Vikingswest1 I see that we agree on just about everything we have discussed so far. Does that mean I have an old soul? Lol, or it might just mean I was raised the right way. Also I was raised by my grandparents. So that might have something to do with it.

Definitely. I've interacted with Alice, and she was very nice and cool (and witty with the Jefferson Airplane riff). I thank everyone on here. Administrators, users, everyone. I'm on a few other message boards, and I've come to make some good friends, and although I've only been here for a few weeks, everyone seems very nice, and I've enjoyed the conversations, especially as I get to see similar people and get to know them a little better :)

This forum has changed over the years but it's still the best place for interacting with people from different lands and cultures. I used to be a forum junkie. I posted at several sites but MyLot is different. It's user friendly AND you earn some pocket change. An awful lot of work is done behind the scenes to make it the place it is.

@PinkFloydFan When I started, there were no earnings. It was an unfiltered discussion forum. The Wild West in a way. There were many features that came and went but when earnings began, the site was flooded with new members and flowed at a quick pace. There were thousands of active members. It was easy to make a dollar a day but it was still an anything goes forum. The forum has changed from a debate/discussion forum into more of a blog or diary site with less debate and less conflict. It's much more user friendly now for those that like avoid conflict.

@Vikingswest1 Out of curiosity, how has it changed? It might be good to know certain social mores.. I always try to grasp the spirit of a message board, because I have to adjust to each forum, even beyond the rules.. the unwritten rules.

Dear "Alice" in myLotLand, Thank you for keeping things running well here so we never go down the rabbit hole. We enjoy this tea party, as you keep it from getting "mad". You take care of those who get too unruly . . . "Off with their accounts!" We can continue our adventures here because of you - so THANK YOU!

You should tag GAA so they know they're being thanked. I know I appreciate all they do. I hope other people appreciate all the work GAA does, as well.

I should have. I didn't even think about that. It's likely that it will be noticed anyway. I really hope others appreciate what a great place this is and the job GAA does here.

Absolutely. This could turn into a rude and vulgar site without GAA.

In the early years here, it WAS that way. It was as bad as FB and Twitter combined. There were many members here that crossed the line in some way. I was one of them in a way. Bashing and flaming and stalking and harassing and cheating and multiple profiles and rude behavior ran rampant here. I would even say that vulgar posts were common. It's hard when you start a discussion where you get attacked, NOT to respond in the same tone. Religion and politics discussions were brutal. The entire atmosphere was different. After two breaks of several years, I come back to find MyLot to be the best forum ever for me. There are still people that rant that their religion is better than other religions and my political team is better than yours but for the most part, even disagreements are civil here now. Very few discussions fall out of control. It's an orderly place with a goal of making it so user friendly, that anyone from anywhere can join. The forum runs smoothly and it didn't happen all by itself. GAA deserves all the credit.

GAA has certainly worked very hard to provide all of us a seamless and amazing platform to interact, have fun and earn too. There's certainly no free lunch in the world, but myLot has proved to be one of the most legit forum sites I've ever come across during the past few years whereby they pay their members accordingly. A lot of sites have folded, but here it is still, standing strong and all. So, here is my token of appreciation to myLot owners/administrators and the efforts to keep it going for all of us.

I haven't been here but maybe 18 monnths. But I do enjoy it. I've been an admin in active groups and it can be extremely exhausting and very time consuming! We have a good admin, let's celebrate that fact and treat him with respect and give him that pat on the back, it's well deserved.

I've been here nearly since the inception of myLot, though my profile does not show it, I have changed profiles a good few times, tiring of the same name, so I have seen myLot admin change quite a few times. I am a veteran member and know that admin always does the best they can.
